Another one. Check out this mock draft.

An "independent of Jaguar fan" (at least I think) website that I check for updates from time to time. This site has all 7 rounds but they update it two or three times a week.

http://www.draftsite.com/nfl/mock-draft/2014/

As of 7:20pm, 1/4/2013, in the midst of the wild card round of the playoffs, here's what they've got us taking.

1 3     Johnny Manziel         QB  Texas A&M      6' 0" 210

2 39   Bishop Sankey          RB  Washington     5' 10" 200

3 70   Michael Sam             DE   Missouri          6' 2" 255

4 101 Dominique Easley     DT   Florida            6' 2" 285

4 110 Terrance Mitchell      CB   Oregon           5' 11" 195

5 132 Demarcus Lawrence DE   Boise State     6' 3" 244

5 138 Kasen Williams          WR  Washington    6' 2" 212

5 147 Bryan Stork               OC   Florida State   6' 4" 289

6 163 Prince Shembo          OLB Notre Dame    6' 2" 250

7 199 Ricardo Allen             CB   Purdue           5' 9" 175

-We've got a franchise QB (arguable).

-MJD's replacement

-Two LEO's or a LEO and SSLB depending on how they would decide to line them up.

-A respectable RDE in Easley

-The rest of the picks are all positions of need where they could develop into starters or add depth (aside from CB which could still be considered questionable.)

I mostly like it... What do you guys think?

Not bad. Would like more interior line though.

Really just gonna have to stop clicking on these ridiculous mock threads. No way in you know where that Easley, Lawrence, and Stork fall to day 3.

I'd love this draft.

Stork might fall that far, but like KYjaggy said, I doubt Easley and Lawrence do.

It's not my mock. I guess I should have been more clear in the title, although I did put in the link to the site, www.draftsite.com/nfl. It's not even a Jaguars website. Of course no one knows where these prospects will end up that's why it's called a mock. What's interesting is how they've got the majority of the prospects projected based on where the mocker thinks they'd go, and they were pretty close in fulfilling the Jags needs. No big deal, just interesting.

It wasn't a criticism raised at you sorry, but that some people who actually think of themselves as experts having such a poor grasp of draft trends and prospect grades/ranks/etc.

That's a fair comment. No harm no foul.

Been seeing more and more mocks having Bortles or Manziel going to the Jags lately

Eh, no thanks to Manziel and Sam.

I'd be okay with this, save for Michael Sam. Steer clear of that dude.

I'd like to see us pick up Stork.  Don't know where he comes off the board, but I like him.

Sure have.  I just hope it's not because of an expected run on QBs.  I wouldn't mind either one, but only if Caldwell truly has their value pegged there and not solely because they're best available QBs.

I would be happy with Manziel, but I am hitching my wagon to Bortles.

The question with Bortles to me is...

will he leapfrog the so-called top QB of the draft and go first (like EJ Manuel), or will he fly under the radar to go on to be the best QB of the draft (like Glennon.)

Or perhaps even both (leapfrog and be the best of the crop?)

WR Jordan Matthews Vandy could be a sleeper pick at 39

Kony is a better prospect than Michael Sam. Sam has exclusively rushed from LDE and gets swallowed up and disappears against better RT's.

Would also rather see a better DE taken 1st or 2nd round and RB later in the draft.

Instead of multiple CB's I'd rather take more O-Line for depth provided we use FA for our starting interior line, otherwise they might opt to draft OL earlier.

Decent mock. Hope Easly and Stork fall that far but ehh..I dont like the number of mocks I've seen that give us multiple dbs. We spent 5/8 picks on DB last year, right?

Welcome my friend to the Bortles bandwagon! We have shirts, and Beer. All you ever need,

It's not a bad draft but I do think we grab a linemen earlier a WR probably in round 3 and take a flyer on a RB later if they get MJD figured out before the draft combined with the way Toddman played this year i feel like the front office thinks they could probably try and find an Alfred Morris type of guy.
