A sponsor had to buy 1200 tickets to avoid a blackout. How pathetic.

No surprise at all. It's about time the blackout rule is done away with entirely. It only applies to cities the NFL has a desire to see fail anyway.

For who? The NFL? Agreed.

Along with the Packers & Bengals, Colts struggled to sellout. The Colts have sold out 100+ straight games, the Packers 370+ straight games. If you're going to try to tell me the Colts & DEFINITELY the Packers have a lack of fan support GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. This is an embarrassment to the NFL, not to fan dedication.

If it were the Jags struggling, I'm sure PFT would be poking fun at us for not selling out a playoff game

Probably.

They did it all week to Colts, Bengals, Packers. But the problem isn't fan support, it's a league/NFL problem.

I disagree.  PFT was extremely nice in how they handled it.  If they wanted a different angle they could have.

If it were the Jags they would have talked about how much the town sucks, fan support sucks, etc etc etc....and that were moving to London in two years.

Dont care....PFT sucks.

Agreed. I hate PFT & Florio.

The Bengals I sorta understand, because they clinched their division in the second to last week.  The Packers clinched 5 days ago at this writing.

The colts clinched early, and have had at least a month with the knowledge that they would host a playoff game.  So yeah, either the fanbase is getting a bit apathetic or the economy must suck in Indy.  Or the team does a poor job of managing ticket sales.

The posters that have commented that the media would be crushing the Jags under the same circumstances are 100% correct.  Complete double standard.

If anything, this should alter the way the Jags are typically blasted for ticket sales. It won't, but it should.

Should it? I honestly don't know how the Jags do when it comes to ticket sales lately (I know in the past you've struggled) are you struggling to sell every home game during the regular season? Because the Colts sellout every home game throughout the season without question. Playoff games are whole different ball game. Prices are higher, STH have to buy both wildcard & AFCCG, time to buy tickets not as long, etc.

It's been much, much better the past 3 years. In 2009 we had a really bad attendance year because season ticket holders just came up on renewals and that's when the economy really crashed. Other than that, we've been in the middle of the pack. We were 20th in 2012. This year, it's lower because we were 2-14. Not many people are going to come see a 2-14 team come play with Henne and Gabbert at QB with only having 3 winning seasons in 10 years.

Sounds like your fan-base needs to let management know how it feels about this problem...Also, how this problem makes the fan-base appear to the media...

If you honestly don't know, then you should zip your pie hole.  I saw alot of red in at your playoff home game yesterday.  I honestly do know that your fan base decided not to truelly show up for a home playoff game.

You beat a badly coached Andy Reid Chiefs team that was on the decline the 2nd half of the season with a decimated offense and defense that lost alot of key players DURING the game.  Next week you'll play a real team where the place will actually have been sold out by the fans of that team and city.  It'll look and sound much different than the neutral field environment that we saw AND HEARD Saturday at Indy.

Lol... Someone's a bit testy (even though I was being 100% genuine in my post & wasn't rude at all) and you're absolutely wrong about the crowd yesterday. Yes there was a lot of Chiefs fans, but not any more than any other game.

Also, Colts fans DID show up & stayed for the WHOLE game. Yesterday was the loudest game in LOS EVER. You're so wrong about the environment yesterday, it's hilarious. I couldn't even scream to the person next to me for them to hear me. More proof of your stupidity: http://forums.colts.com/topic/25243-luca...o-kidding/ OR http://forums.colts.com/topic/25206-12th-man-merge/ Get out of here with your crap.

Also, don't tell me ANYTHING about injuries. No team in the NFL has had more key injuries than the Colts this year.

The Indianapolis Colts franchise reminds me of the O'doyle family. Eventually, something bad of epic proportions is going to happen to them.

In response to the bolded:

1.  There are Chiefs fans in every game?  LOL, man your fan-base is worse off than I thought!  bwahahahah

2.  Sorry brutha, but the stadium sounded pretty weak on TV, and I have a pretty good sound system.  The entire game it sounded like the c'lot fans had a frog in their throat.  On the contrary, anytime a good play was made my the Chiefs it sounded MUCH louder.  I'm serious, even my mother-in-law was asking where the game was being played...  LOL...  Like I said, neutral field.

But whatever, you guys won.  So enjoy.  I'm not impressed.
