He's extremely similar to D-Rob. While I don't think we need another guy in that mold, it would be hard not to take a late round flier on him.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Yes please.
He'd be a nice Darren Sproles type back out of the backfield. Kinda like what Denard Robinson would be if he could catch or not fumble when he touches the ball.
Sorry High Score, but my biggest pet peeve in draft evaluation is saying any undersized pass catching RB could be Sproles. It is the laziest and most often butchered of NFL draft comps (even worse than any small quick white WR is the next Welker).
Sproles was a monster workhorse at Kstate. Averaged almost 300 touches a year in college while racking up 5.5k yards. His combination of size and durability is basically unmatched in recent history. He didn't say he could be Sproles, he said he is the same type of back, i.e.an undersized pass catching RB.
A playmaker like that? Yeah, I'm interested. Might be a bit redundant with Robinson, but a little competition never hurt anyone.

Maybe Woodhead or Vereen or McCluster...
A team can not have to many play-makers on it...

But I thought Danny Woodhead was pretty much like Wes Welker, if Welker played running back... (cue sarcasm)

You really think you're like Mel Kiper or something, don't you?
KYJaggy is one of the best draft analysts on this board, IMO.

Sorry KYjaggy, but I don't give a [BLEEP] about your pet peeves, and I did not type my post to appeal to you. As mentioned above, I didn't say he would be Darren Sproles, I simply used Sproles as an example of the type of usage I'd like to see Thomas get. I also compared Thomas' role to that of Dennard Robinson, who was pretty much an unmitigated disaster his rookie year. Did that comparison sit okay with you? Sorry KYjaggy, but you should work on not getting your Jr. amateur draftnik sensitivities all offended. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I'd like to get him but he'd probably be gone by the 4th round, which is where I think the value would be too good to pass on.
Quote:I'd like to get him but he'd probably be gone by the 4th round, which is where I think the value would be too good to pass on.i think that is way too high for him and especially on a type of back we already have two of ie a pace back that runs to the edge we have robinson and todman todman who had a good solid year both on special teams and robinson who is already our project at the position don't get me wrong the guy is exciting but i'd rather we spent a low round pick on a bruiser than a whippet
He will be gone too early for us. We need a bigger, more bruising type back like an Eddie Lacy or Law Firm to complement Todman and Denard. I would love to see Carlos Hyde get picked in the third or fourth round.
Quote:i think that is way too high for him and especially on a type of back we already have two of ie a pace back that runs to the edgeIn today's NFL, that's not too high for him at all IMO. Todman can run inside and DRob has not shown enough to be counted on going forward, even if he does, nothing wrong with having 2 of those guys. I think he'll be gone by the end of the 3rd at worst We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
DAT is faster than all the scat backs in the league currently. He doesnt have the toughness of sproles but is similar in quick twitch ability and size obviously. Thats the closest comparison IMO.
You cant really compare him to Robinson, Thomas has played RB his whole life, where as Robinson has on played RB for a lil while, he would be a more polished guy coming out. I wouldnt mind him in the 4th or 5th like where we got D-Rob.

He reminds me of Chris Johnson.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. |
