I dunno none of the QBs in this years draft scream top 3 picks in the 1st round, or even the 1st round.
I think the Jaguars will most likely draft OT, or DE in 3rd (if not trade down) and then in the 2nd or 3rd round address QB, or via trade?
OT??? Why? We seem pretty set there, obviously we need depth but at 3 seems a little unnecessary.
Go Jaguars! Go Hokies!
; ; Infamous Out..
Selecting an OT at 3 would probably have me give up on Caldwell. That said, I really doubt it happens.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

There’s a lot to like about him for sure, I’m just not quite sold on his name. Bortles just doesn’t sound like franchise QB material
Quote: OT is one of the few strong-ish positions on this team, lol...
I've kind of changed my philosophy about drafting O lineman very high. Even though I know it's over, and I like Luke Joeckel and I think he's going to be a really good player - I personally would never draft a lineman that high.
I think you can have adequate protection with mid-rounders or late 1st rounders as well as FA's... I just really don't think they affect the game enough to warrant top 3 selections.

I think Joeckel is gonna be one of our best linemen ever. He was worth the 2 last year, especially considering the lack of talent in the class. He's gonna be a probowler.
That said, you don't have two top five tackles on your team. Bad idea.

Even though I agree that I don't want an OT with the 3rd pick, didn't the Ravens have exactly that in the late 90's/ early 2000's?
I wouldn't know TMD, I was eating baby food back then.

By the same token, I think the Bull Gators can't bear the thought of seeing a Florida State Seminole as our new elite-level franchise quarterback. The Gator-infested media is pushing a quarterback a year early to prevent the possibility that Teal Town will draft Jameis Winston next year. This passive aggressive behavior by the orange and blue is nothing new. The Gator-infested media never accepts any responsibility each time they lead a cattle stampede. Derrick Harvey took Wayne Weaver for multi-millions and not a single member of the Gator-infested media has paid back a penny of the robbery they aided and abetted.

My stance on Bortles is:
I'm not hoping that Caldwell drafts him. But if he does, I'll have faith in it being the right pick. Normally I hate that sort of stance, especially when it's taken on everything. Personally I'm not sure about Bortles. I'm concerned that he'll be a bust. But a professional GM taking him would alleviate my concerns enough to actually like him. Manziel on the other hand, I don't think I can have faith on him if Caldwell selects him, but I will hope that he turns out better than I think he will. Really hope the Texans trade down with someone who wants Clowney really badly. The Rams take Matthews, and leave Bridgewater for us. And the Texans wind up drafting Manziel, and he winds up being as I think he will be.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Brien Straw wrote this up and thinks Bortles goes 1 overall. I think it is ridiculous that such a dark horse would climb boards so rapidly and over such a small amount of time. Why have we never heard about the guy? Anyway if he goes number 1 this bodes well for Teddy fans, including myself.

Anyway if he goes number 1 this bodes well for Teddy fans, including myself. "Climbing up the boards" is a myth. The scouts that work for teams have been high on him all year. Its just the media who is catching up to them. This often happens with players who dont play in big conferences or are on TV a lot. We show less advertisements to registered users. "If" Jameis is as good as people are saying then he'll be the first overall pick. Not sure people are aware, but we ended up with the third overall pick with the worst talent and a new HC. Many times we were predicted to be the worst team of all time. Our arrow is pointing up as by nature it cannot get any worse, we will not be drafting Jameis "if" he lives up to the hype. So we take Teddy, Bortles, Manziel or wait for the chance to draft Mariota or Hundley. We could also take a flyer on some prospects such as Fales, but we need to address the position eventually as Ghenne is awful.
