The wideouts are overrated and ARob got exposed last year. Hurns is way overpaid for his production and Lee is just a track athlete geared up. It's a damn shame TC or whoever traded away JT80 for a goodfornothing sleazeball, could've used all the receiving options available with ARobs injury.

But at least we're not fielding Mike Brown or John Broussard so it could be worse I guess... I remember the days of balls bouncing off face masks.

I know the perfect spiral thing is overrated a little bit because of something that is irrelevant to the Jaguars: which arm the QB throws with. Imagine what people would say if we had Kellen Moore.

A right-handed QB throwing ducks is totally different. It is about poor mechanics. That is why people go crazy about a throwing motion that should not affect a receiver's ability to go get the ball and catch it. However, I am convinced people are watching the wrong games if they think Blake Bortles does not throw a perfect spiral on many of his passes. He has not been that bad in any of our games, just throwing balls off target and directly into the hands of reaching defensive linemen.

The number of drops by our receivers can partially be explained by the fact none of them wear #15. When we get that guy back, far fewer passes will be dropped. You also can't put all the blame on Blake Bortles for inaccurate passes. Sure, many of them are probably his fault, but people who watch football every week know a variety of factors go into what may appear to be a bad decision by the QB.

Why are they though?  Have ya ever tried to catch a badly thrown ball?  Have ya done it with defenders closing in?  Have ya tried to catch it over your head with defenders closing in?  

I am talking bout in real games not madden. I have and is a major difference.  Unless ya using a Nerf.  For those who like me played high school football.  Or college football.  

It is no where as easy as couch potatoes make it out to be.  The fans and the noise make a huge difference.  And the concentration level needed.  

I am not saying our receivers don't have butter fingers at times.  I am saying.   The ball has to be Catchable for it to be the receivers fault.  

Many of Blake's throws are huge adjustments to catch a simple pass.  He is so worried about getting hit.  He is not paying attention to where to throw the ball.  In already tight windows.  Imagine ya little boy throwing to you. 

And it is way off the mark.  But ya have a very competitive best friend/family member/ neighbor.  Going for it same time. Times 1000 % harder.

We have a chicken and egg situation going on.... Is the QB bad because the WRs are playing bad or are the WRs playing poorly because the QB can't get them the ball consistently?

In the NFL, it is always the QB's fault. This year isn't a coaching issue.

Coaching:
Game Planning - have we had a plan that has kept us out of a game?
Decision Making - have we lost a game because of down and distance or situational awareness mistakes?
Effort - have we seen lazy routes, loafing?

The coaches are okay so far this year. I think we would be winless if this was still Gus.

My problem right now is that Bortles doesn't even attempt to extend plays or make things happen. I watch other games and Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins, and Deshaun Watson are all stepping out of the pocket to extend plays, hitting WRs on the run but Blake does not of that anymore. Their game plan of "not losing the game" vs the Jets was horrible.

The WRs certainly aren't helping him look any better either. Lee drops a ton of balls and never seems to have a clutch catch. Bortles has been bad. Thats a given and no one can dispute that but he's also not getting any help from his WRs. 

I would love to have Kearse here in Jacksonville. I'd trade him for Lee in a heart beat.

You know it is crazy.  You watch other games around the league and you look at the 2nd year QBs and how they are progressing and matching their skill set to the game plan and the situations unfolding during the game.  BB5 looks the same as he did day one.  Doesn't seem like he is allowed to audible and that could be because he can't read the defense.  I don't know it just seems like whatever is the emphasis in the offseason is the only thing he will do.

He has 4 drops on the season with no other WR being credited with a drop.

They're not going to pay him 18 million dollars to play next year. If they keep him, that's how much he will get.

So although no one can predict the future, it's a pretty good bet that the Jags don't want to pay him that much money.

The most logical outcome is that they cut Blake, pay him nothing and then sign a new QB and draft another.
