Why is Teddy Bridgewater is the most overrated prospect on this message board

That we also do so while not giving our division rival a chance at him (like we did Luck) even adds fuel to that fire. As I said in a prior post regarding Bridgewater's "hype" as you call it...I frequent other boards, and his "hype" has been consistent. When Jags and Bucs were both winless, fans of both those teams wanted Bridgewater. When the Bucs started to win and it looked like Houston/Jags were candidates for #1, then Texans fans and Jaguars fans wanted Bridgewater. Now that there are rumors that the Texans MIGHT be eyeing Bortles with the #1, even St. Louis fans are getting in the mix of wanting Bridgewater (and they are in a far better shape at the QB position than either the Jaguars or the Texans). It's not even just the fans of the teams who have a shot at Bridgewater who have been vocal. I've seen Tennessee fans comment at the thought of having to deal with Luck and Bridgewater in the same division (either with Jags or with Texans), and I've seen fans of other teams comment about Bridgewater throwing to Austin and Bailey in St. Louis. We want Teddy here because we think he's really good...and that he can change this franchise around for the better. This franchise can survive an 0-16 season if it turns it around after that led by a franchise QB (which obviously many feel Bridgewater is). It cannot, however...continue to hover in the range of 4 to 8 (occassional 9 and 10) win seasons as a good team is held back by sub-par QB play. The 1st scenario would put us in the realm of the Colts after getting Manning, and now it appears after getting Luck. The 2nd scenario would put us in the shoes of the Jaguars circa 2007.
What if the Jaguars draft went like this
1st round pick - Clowney, DE 2nd round pick - Dion Bailey, S, USC 3rd round pick - Bryan Stork, C, Florida 4th round pick - Tre Jackson, G Florida 5th round pick - James Gayle, Leo, VT 6th round pick - Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia 7th round pick was traded to move up Quote:What if the Jaguars draft went like this We have 2 4th rounders and 3 5th rounders. I just want whoever is the best QB and is the franchise player. There are three prospects in this draft, who i believe, can start RIGHT AWAY, and POTENTIALLY, can be franchise QB. Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles. There are others as well but may need to sit or something for a few seasons to be groomed. Just because Teddy is not Luck type prospect, does not mean he is not going to be a good player as well as not deserving the number 1 selection. He's been rated that by personnel and scouts since day 1. He's very smart, he can make the throws, he has pocket presence and is a leader. He's a little undersized, but he is still 6 3. You all take whatever you hear as the all mighty truth and run with it. The owner came out and said he would hear offers for the number 1 pick. DOES THAT MEAN HE IS TRADING IT? Ever heard of a smokescreen? Gullible, some of you are. Houston is not trading the pick, unless its an RG3 type deal, and only a fool would not take a house trade like that. Teddy, will probably be the number 1 selection.
Its like the previous regime, whenever gene swiped his wand, he had you all in a trance doing the cha cha cha to what he said. Quite comical. If you wait around till the next Luck comes around, your going to look back and see that you have done nothing but waited. Theres always a good prospect in the draft, always. Sure, some drafts like last year have no clear cut prospect, and the Geno and Teddy comparisons are completely ridiculous. Teddy is a clear cut prospect, Geno is not. There will be at least 3 QB drafted in the first, two in the top 10, probably all three drafted in the top 10. And just for your information, if you are wanting to pass on a QB this year, to get Winston next year, even if he comes out, would likely need the 1st pick in the draft. And most of you are for passing on a QB are people who are against "tanking". So, to get Winston, you are wanting us to tank next season. I would be stunned if a QB is not taking in the top 2 rounds this year, there are prospects. Bridgewater as a qb was miles ahead of vick
Bridgewater as a qb is miles ahead of Winston Winston is good and possesses great physical tools but he is still on the rudimentary get the calls from the sideline and one read check down stuff. His pocket presence is lacking and his ability to sift through progressions is lmited A neophyte in all honesty Granted Winston is young and has another 3 years to develop all that but he is no where close to being on Bridgewater's level. Winston was looking like the second coming of the Jaguars version of Byron Leftwich last night. Anybody putting him above Teddy right now if he was able to declare for 2014 is just fooling themselves. Honestly, I'd probably rate Hackenberg from PSU above him at this point.
