Seriously, it's like Vegas had the Refs on speed dial, trying to make the game closer than it was. If this wasn't a deliberate attempt to help the Browns win, then the refs are incompetent. Either way, there should be some firings. This game needs to be reviewed and dealt with administratively.

I wouldn't doubt it. Jags were favored by 7.5 and were a heavily bet team. Refs tried their best to keep the Jags from covering the spread possibly ?

About the Dede call: they were suppose to be reviewing the catch to see if he was in bounds. The fact that the refs said they couldn't determine if the receiver had possession of the ball should not have been a factor. There was never an original determination that he didn't have possession of the ball. There must be irrefutable evidence to overturn an incorrect call. In this case, there was never an original call to determine he didn't posses the ball, so there was nothing to confirm/refute in that regard

The original call was an incomplete pass. You must show that the pass was completed. Not that at some point both his feet were in play.

Firtst time in 55 years the Browns didnt have a penalty lol, the Dede pass where he clearly had possession and drug his feet to stay in bounds, the fumble where they called the play dead and it would of been a TD for Fowler, with 2:06 left and Kizer was clearly in bounds but the refs called it out to save them a time out.  The refs have to be on this week of "Cmon man"

 
For all of the reasons above, you have to wonder how they could be consistently bad against one team in a game.  How is it possible one team gets the benefit of all of the calls or no calls like the Browns did today?  I've seen several Jags games officiated like this this year.  I know fans of every team think their team always gets the shaft and I'm usually quite aware of that fact and blow off the bad call that we get here or there, but it really does seem like the league has it out for us.  This goes back to last year when all of sudden Robinson was getting mugged every game with 0 PI calls going his way.  It's freaking ridiculous.

The NFL has been muddying the waters over the years with their convoluted rules and now they have someone clearly incapable of reviewing calls in the NFL offices. It's a recipe for disaster.

The refs were unreal bad yesterday. Between this PI, the blatant miss on the Westbrook catch, blowing the play dead on the Fowler return and the fact that the Browns had ZERO PENALTIES...... Worst officiated game of the season.

New NFL headquarters review junk in action. Appears to be quite a bit of official micromanagement the last few weeks in the NFL in general.

Fit me with a tinfoil hat if you will, but I viewed that with suspicion the minute I learned of that change.

I'm not that type of guy but I've been singing the tune since the beginning of the year. My wife and daughter even question the calls. I called the review coming as soon as plays happened. It wasn't the game officials as they were continuing play on the field, although they did miss some calls. It is always NY buzzing in on crucial, possibly game changing plays. I don't ever remember the game official being micromanaged how they are now. Why even pay em. Ya know?

Does the league as a whole benefit financially if popular teams make it deep in the playoffs? Of course it does.

Exponentially more team merchandise gets sold when one of the more popular teams wins the Super Bowl. Team merchandise sales are largely shared with the league as part of the revenue sharing agreement (except merchandise bought directly from a particular team's store). Perhaps that portion of the revenue sharing agreement needs to be revisited, though I doubt it ever will. I believe revenue sharing for professional sports leagues is generally a good idea, but the way it's currently set up there is a built in incentive for the league to see particular teams advance.

I was in Cleveland for the game, and by the 3rd Quarter, even the Browns fans in the stadium around me were acknowledging some of the blown calls. More than once they'd put a replay up on the Jumbo tron and the guys next to me were like "wow... got away with another one..."

Then again... the guy next to me asked the T-Shirt cannon guy to shoot him with it and put him out of his misery... so there's that.
