That, and the dating pool for the staffers at Louisville just grew by one!

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

You think having a quitter as a head coach is going to help recruiting?

Louisville just showed that they care more about wins than character. The true colors of major college athletics shines again.

Petrino is a good coach, but he's a complete jerk and will probably have some issue knowing him.

So did Alabama a few years ago.  How is that working?

Not sure, let me ask Nick Saban.

The difference is, Alabama has the resources to hang onto Nick Saban.   Petrino will leave Louisville at the first opportunity.

Reason 459 to convince anyone still living in the past - you know, when people used to pretend that college athletes were students and coaches were hired to train young men for the future. That "build character" silliness.

Louisville just hired a guy with no character, so they don't need to worry about trying to fool anyone.

Louisville has resources.  They are entering the ACC next year and have tons of money in Hoops and their Football attendance is increasing year by year.  How do you think they retain Rick Petino in basketball ?  I think they are fine.

I actually agree with your statement.

They athletes you need to get to be #1 are looking for a coach that can coach.  Athletes are not going to Ohio State because Urban will get them to graduate with a 3.5 GPA.

Most coaches have some baggage, whether it is leaving another program or doing something on the taboo side of the fence.

Petrino has done it all now....I think he'll finish his career at the Ville. That is why Jurich got him back.
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Even if Louisville gets 5-10 years from Petrino it's a good thing.  He knows offense.  He knows QBs.  He recruits heavily in Florida.

Petrino built that program.  Charlie Strong "maintained" the program.

If UF fired Muschamp tomorrow and hired Petrino, the UF fans would be ecstatic and their offense would be 10x better than last year.

Louisville was paying Strong very well. They have resources.

Yeah, but will that opportunity come for a guy who's made a career out of quitting as soon as things get tough?

I have a feeling that some Louisville players will be even more upset with Charlie Strong than they are right now.

On a totally unrelated subject:  how is it possible that, appearance-wise, Bobby Petrino is a year younger than Charlie Strong?
