So Andrew Luck is just above-average

Quote:Sure. I'll break every single thing you said down.

TY Hilton is a great contemporary WR. I don't think he's a #1 WR right now, in the future? Maybe. Right now, I don't think so. He's having to be the #1 WR right now though without Reggie.

Even a Colts fan agrees with me.

Quote:Do you guys consider Eli Manning elite?

Nope.

He's played big in some big spots/ big games. But the sum of the parts is not elite.

Who are two posters who are not Jaguar fans, Alex?

Careful, your QB "evaluations" always come back to haunt you.

Sometimes you post out of  hope as a fan. He always "looked" the part as a college prospect with his prototypical size and squeaky clean image. Even his "interviews and "chalk talk was impressive".  He never "played" the part, however. Not in college and certainly not as a pro.

You must be desperate.

I don't think I'd ever waste actual seconds of my day searching for old pirkster posts. You are obsessed with me. Creepy.

I also see you don't mention the part I got right, being that he never should have started as a rookie. Typical.

The only reason you do stuff like this is you know I have been knocking everything out of the park lately with my opinions and you don't like it. So you try to find stuff from years ago where I might have got something wrong, in a feeble attempt to try and discredit current correct opinions via the past. Sad when thats all you got.

At least I seemed to learn from my mistakes. You are still getting it wrong, here in 2014.

Nothing was exposed. Sometimes you reach for things you hope you are seeing as a fan, if it could mean good things for the team. I don't do it a lot, but I can sometimes get swept up in it. That was one of those times. I need to remember to trust my eyes and don't speak from wishcasting when it comes to some Jags topics and predicting good things. I got carried away.

Btw, pirkster, you of all people shouldn't be pointing out others whiff's on Gabbert takes. You were pro Gabbert longer than almost anyone here. You would argue with anyone who saw quicker than you that he was not panning out.

Then you tried to let all that die and now act as if you weren't a HUGE Gabbert fan. Which you were. Just like you were with Leftwich.

You did hate Garrard though, and acted as if he was worse at the time than what we later saw from Henne/ Gabbert.

Quote:No, I didn't respond because all your points were the exact opposite of mine. "He's not as good as you think" .... "HE'S REALLY GOOD!!!"

I'll just say this last thing: If all the guys you're claiming to be great for the Colts were great, losing Reggie wouldn't have been as big of a deal as it was.

And the Colts sold-out every game in 2011 (losing 14 straight) and sold-out every game in 2012 coming off a 2-14 season in 2011. WITHOUT TARPS! Oh, and they sold out this playoff game. Since you keep saying we didn't, lol. And what does the weather have to do with GB? The weather is almost always treacherous in GB. This is an NFL issue, not a fan dedication issue, and if you think otherwise you're clueless.
If you think providing facts is saying the "opposite", I don't know what to tell you.

Losing Reggie Wayne WASN'T that big of a deal. It did hurt your team some, but it's not like it killed Andrew Luck for more than 2-3 games. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/...ndrew-luck His rating is actually higher without Wayne. Like I said, Ty Hilton put up better numbers than Reggie Wayne though 5 games in the Regular Season.

The only reason we have tarps is because we have the 4th largest stadium in the league and the smallest market. The tarps are being taken down for 2014, anyway. No, you didn't sell out. Unless people actually went to the game and used the tickets, you didn't sell out the game in my mind.

I've provided facts as to why he's average. It's your choice whether you want to read them or not.

Merely "average" QB don't carry teams on their back and lead them almost single handedly out of 28 point 2nd half deficits to victories in NFL PLAYOFF games.

Luck is very good. Will be widely regarded as "elite" sooner than later.

We should have tanked in 2011.

Luck is NOT a franchise QB yet. To be frank, his first year was quite mediocre. This year he has been average.

Um, the game did sell out.  I have read some of your posts here. Serious question. Are you okay?

You were bailed out by a corporation that bought 2000 tickets hours before the deadline. Otherwise, the game would have been blacked out in Indy.

If you can't decipher sarcasm on the internet, that's not my problem.

You're incredible.

Now TY Hilton is a better WR than Reggie Wayne? Laughing

Also, the game was sold out. All tickets being bought = sold out. They were given to military families living in Indy. It was sold out.

You can continue typing your nonsense, but that won't make any of it true.

EDIT: Also, the reason for Andrew's/TY's increase in success as of late is not because Reggie got hurt (lol, that you're actually making that argument), but because Pep changed the offense. I don't know the exact percentage, but this offense is running I would say 75% out of shotgun (if not more) & has gotten away from the "power run game" and has put the ball into Andrew's hands more. Pep has allowed Andrew to have more influence on this offense. Although, how could that happen? He's just average, I thought?

I never said Ty Hilton was better than Reggie Wayne dippy. You said part of why Andrew Luck struggled is because Reggie Wayne went down. Well, that's not why he struggled. Ty Hilton but up better numbers through 5-6 games than Reggie Wayne. I never said Hilton is better than Wayne.

Actually, Luck and Hilton's success is because Wayne got hurt because Ty Hilton is now the #1 receiver. Look at Hilton's targets since Wayne went down. They have almost tripled. This really is easy stuff. His attempts didn't even rise that much from the beginning of the season, and yor offense has actually been running the ball MORE. Richardson and Brown's attempts have increased.

I think you should stop making excuses for Caveman. Doesn't look good on your part as a fan.

No, the game didn't sell out. A mediocre department store had to rush in and buy almost 3000 tickets so knucklehead Colts fans could watch the game, and that's with constant commercials running every 30 minutes on local TV with Andrew Luck "reminding" fans there were tickets still available and pleading for fans to come out. Pathetic.

And Luck is grossly overhyped. I'm stuck watching him every week and then listening to him be hailed The Messiah every week on local sports radio. It's not like he receives anything resembling an objective critique of his play at any time here in Indy.   He did everything he could to choke that playoff game away BTW. Three interceptions and several more that bounced out of defenders hands is not an "elite" performance. The Chiefs obliged him by showing the ability to choke harder. Get back to me after the Patriots blow the Colts out this weekend.

The Patriots will beat the Colts this week, IMO....so at least you got that one right....

Not sure how I'm making excuses for "caveman".

The Colts are putting the hands in Andrew's hands more & we're winning THAT'S A FACT. Last Sunday, 60 of 65 plays were out of the shotgun. Only 13 plays were designed runs. 13. What does that mean we're doing, Tommy? We're passing. With Andrew Luck. We're winning. With Andrew Luck.

Keeping typing away that he's average if that makes you feel better. It just won't make it reality.
