Why does size matter so much?
|
Quote:I believe that information came from the BLESTO scouting report. It will be interesting to see what comes of the combine. That is, if he participates. He looks no bigger than 6'1, 190 to me. He's got a really thin waist, narrow shoulders, and is very lean but not particularly muscular.

LULZ....now why don't you post a pic of Blaine Gabbert throwing a football next to Tom Brady.

But that is a big weight difference so to know if he is 196 or 220, we must look at the date each article was written. Quote:OK here is something else I just thought about. How can they accurately measure a guy with a full inch of hair on the top of his head? You are way, way over-analyzing this. Quote:Alright Pirkster, since you like to compare them, who do you think is "bigger" between the two, and if their size matters?
Quote:You are way, way over-analyzing this. I was just thinking maybe hairstyle explains the difference sometimes when the height changes in a player's bio. For example, MJD had dreadlocks at UCLA, then no hair, a bush, and dreadlocks in the NFL. If you measured him three different seasons, you would get three different heights. Of course, in his case it would only be a fraction of an inch, but Tiquan Underwood is another story. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Maybe use the uppermost visible part of the forehead for guys whose hair size/style makes the old "ruler on the head" trick unusable. Quote:Alright Pirkster, since you like to compare them, who do you think is "bigger" between the two, and if their size matters? They look nearly identical. That's the point.

Quote:Can you catch me up to speed, I think I'm lost. Dude, you're killing me in this thread. Absolutely killing me. :thanks:
I'd be weary of drafting Johny Football if I was the Vikings, but not the Jaguars. It's no shock that the cold has direct effect on size- It can cause shrinkage and Minneapolis winters are chilly.

Quote:OK here is something else I just thought about. How can they accurately measure a guy with a full inch of hair on the top of his head? I think all prospects should have their heads shaved so we can get a better measurement. When they show up to the combine they can all be lined up for haircuts like at boot camp. Quote:They look nearly identical. That's the point. What goes on in their head is different. Blaine Gabbert is 6'4 240 lb. Tom Brady is 6'4 230 lb. They way they throw the football is also similarly. By your logic, they are projected to be the same QB, right?
Quote:They use protection in Minneapolis. I believe they call them domes. There is no dome at the University of Minnesota, where they will play the next two seasons. Also, don't forget the Vikings go to Green Bay and Chicago every year. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I am not worried about it, just pointing out a possible reason not all sources put the same number of inches on a player's bio.
