There is no way Lee is on this team next season since he'll get a lot more money going elsewhere in free agency. Hurns will be the toughest decision since I believe cutting or trading him would save $9 million dollars of cap money. He is very reliable when healthy, but Cole and Westbrook have much more upside. Cole is the most exciting guy to me since he continues to get better every week. Whoever the scout was who found this guy deserves a big bonus.

Funny, that same scout was also responsible for Blair Brown. Pay da man!

Absolutely! As great as Hurns turned out to be as an undrafted guy, he still played for Miami. Finding a guy like Cole from such a small school in Kentucky takes the cake. It wouldn't shock me if he ends up being a pro-bowler!

I see Dede Westbrook taking Lee’s spot. He’s been good with the under crossing routes. Maybe not as fast but seems sure handed for a rookie who will only get better

Most yards in a game by a WR since Blackmon in 2012. First Jags rookie WR to have a TD in 3 straight games

He's good going vertical, solid get off and speed. Seems pretty smooth in his breaks. Not the most physical guy doesn't seem to have an issue with getting bumped. Think he's like 6'1/6"2.

Reminds me of Rishard Matthews.

How about this one.... JERRY RICE

Jerry would look real nice backing up Mickens.

I remember week 1 in 2015 vs the Pack, you could argue he cost us that game too. It was a simple WR screen and he flat out dropped the ball. Then Bortles threw a slant and he tipped it perfectly to the DB.

I've said it a lot but Lee is an 800 yard and 3 TD type of receiver.

Cole and Westbrook have made plays that Lee just hasn't made yet. Cole made the OBJ catch against Cincy. Westbrook layed out parallel to the ground on a fade route against Seattle.

Lee is good with the underneath stuff and that's about it. He has quick acceleration and he has above average speed. But catching is not his strength.

Cole and Westbrook can do more than Lee. Lee's time as a Jag is up in my opinion. These young guys are phasing him out. Once Arob and Hurns come back, it becomes a numbers game.

Lee's drops date back to USC.
His injury history goes back that far too.

I don't see a scenario where we pay him.
AR gets a team friendly/injury prove-it deal I think, possible extended if he looks 100% toward the end of 2018.
There are quite a few WRs coming out that have similar skill sets and build of Lee.

AR/Hurns/Cole/Westbrook/Mickens/Rookie

Looks good to me, and would probably be the best WR corp for the dollar. (Assuming AR has a 10 mil + incentive 1 year type deal, Hurns would be like 7 mil, and the three youngsters combine for like pennies comparably)

I agree with everything but Arobs deal. If it's me, then I'm not putting him on a prove it deal. I go ahead and sign him long term. I know what he can do on the field. He stays out of trouble and he plays hard. 1400 yards in 2015 with 14 TDs, with Bortles at QB. Not knocking Blake but that's Pro Bowl numbers.

Arob can go get balls that the rest of our guys can't. No prove it deals here. He can play.

Well.. the "prove it" part is more about being sure he comes back from injury 100.
If his knee bothers him and he can't get those jump balls, he's just another receiver really.

His ability to go up and go get those 50/50s is where his value lies, imo.

Keelan Cole can block too.... on that screen pass TD to Mickens, he manhandled his guy.

Cole will lead the Jags in receiving at the end of the season

These rookies are slippery. We're actually getting separation. Hopefully ARob is still the same player when he gets back.
No pain, no gain.

Wasn't Lee the one that kicked the ball with his foot and it was intercepted?

I'm pretty sure that, not only does he drop a lot of balls, he's responsible for a lot of them getting tipped and intercepted.

Think that was Yeldon Georgia, not 100% sure tho

If we were to extend ARob, let Lee walk while trading Hurns, we'd do wonders for our cap while still fielding the following attractive WR corps...

  1. ARob
  2. Cole
  3. Dede
  4. Benn
  5. Mickens
  6. draft pick

Gotta keep one of Lee or hurns or draft someone early. That WR corps does not look attractive to me. Very inexperienced at 2 and 3. And having Benn as wr4 shows how much depth it is lacking.

Arob's routes are superb. And I agree his 5050 balls are awesome too but his has some clean routes.

Agree. That's why we ain't trading Hurns.
