Rank the BCS Champions
|
Since we are closing out the BCS era, lets see how all of you would rank the BCS Champions.
Here is my list: 2008 Florida 2001 Miami 2005 Texas 2011 Alabama 2004 USC (even though it was later vacated) 2013 FSU 2009 Alabama 2012 Alabama 1999 FSU 2000 Oklahoma 2010 Auburn 2003 LSU 1998 Tennessee 2002 Ohio State 2006 Florida 2007 LSU We show less advertisements to registered users. I don't know if the Gators belong in front of Miami, but I can see the argument being made. I would also put that OSU at the very bottom. They didn't deserve that title anyway.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

I agree about Ohio State not deserving it because of a phantom PI call, but any team that wins a national title with two losses should automatically be at the very bottom.
I think 2013 FSU team should be 3rd on that list. They did so many things that haven't been done before with that team. 2001 Miami should be #1, that team was ridiculous.
Are we ranking them based on the season as a whole or just the Championship game?

Top three in no order would be;
'01 Miami (Might be the best of them all) '10 Auburn (Just couldn't stop Cam) '04 USC (So explosive and fun to watch, maybe the most fun team to watch of all time)

Good thread...
I'd put that 2001 Miami team first. Didnt they have Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, AND Clinton Portis on that roster at RB? Ed Reed AND Sean Taylor AND Antrel Rolle. Jon Vilma AND DJ Williams. Vince Wilfork! Andre Johnson! Bryant McKinnie! Jeremy Shockey and Kellen Winsow. It was just sick. That roster was unbelievable. The remaining top 4 would be similar to yours. 04 USC was great. I thought 05 USC was eve nbetter but they lost to Vince Young who is still one of the best college players Ive ever seen. I thought 08 Florida was great. So my remaining top 4 would be some combo of 04 USC, 05 Texas, and 08 Florida. It wouldnt surprise me if any of those championship Bama teams could beat any of those other teams but the way they play just doesnt look impressive so it hurts their image. Teams that just grind you to death just dont look as impressive. As far as the most recent winner in FSU. I'd put them in the bottom half. To no fault of their own, their schedule was just so weak so its hard to gauge their talent. And I thought they were outplayed by Auburn who made a ton of bad mistakes to lose that championship game. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. Quote:Good thread... How so? We had an NFL record 13 draft picks in 2012, and we come back the next year with a redshirt freshman QB and a guy who had never been in charge of a defense before and win the national title. I think that's a pretty good indication of how talented this team was. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
2013 FSU are extremely overrated. 63rd SOS? Bottom half. Below the LSU teams.

Yea Miami and that Florida team were so loaded they def top 2

Its a good unbiased list I would agree with most of the picks. Guess being the only team to win it with a redshirt hiesman winning freshman QB doesn't count as much of an accomplishment. The red shirt freshman would lose to any other national championship team. No one is hating on their accomplishments this year but against other past championship teams they would lose. And enough of the freshman junk. Long gone are the days where a guy is expected to sit. The game today is thrusting players out as soon as they get there. Immediately thrown to the wolves. If they repeat in the same fashion next year what will the excuse be?

FSU is dead last, all the other championship teams easily make it to the National Championship games on their schedule

2001 Miami
2008 Florida 2005 Texas 2011 Alabama 2004 USC 2009 Alabama 2000 Oklahoma 2012 Alabama 2010 Auburn 2013 FSU 2003 LSU 2006 Florida 1999 FSU 1998 Tennessee 2007 LSU 2002 Ohio State Quote:2001 Miami I think 2013 FSU should be ahead of Auburn and 1999 FSU should definitely be ahead of 2006 Florida.
I feel 2010 Auburn has a better offense and a better pass-rush(still had really bad secondary play, though). And honestly, you could arrange '03 LSU/'06 Florida/'99 FSU any which way you wanted and I wouldn't really argue.
