Everywhere I have been in Jacksonville this week, Jaguars stuff is everywhere.

I pass by people and catch snippets of conversations, and I hear Jaguars on peoples' lips.

I see the Jaguars logo and colors everywhere.  Stores that never featured Jaguars gear now feature it prominently.

Haven't seen this level of excitement in this town since 1996.

To me and the rest of us die hards, being a Jaguars fan is always cool.  But to the casual fan, being a Jaguars fan is cool again.

It's a beautiful thing to see and experience and it's way overdue.  Just think how nuts this town will be if we win tomorrow...and again in two weeks!

I remember when we first got the team.  For two to three weeks, people were walking around town with goofy grins of jubilation and disbelief.  People would see another wearing the Jaguars logo, and automatically a bond of sorts was created.  If we win tomorrow, the jubilation of late 1993 and early 1994 would be eclipsed.

The possibilities excite the hell outta me.

I had this exact same conversation with a friend of mine who is also an inaugural season ticket holder.  You’re seeing an explosion of interest as the team has turned the corner.  

It’s nice to see the new fans jumping on the bandwagon, but even more interesting to see old fans returning.  They’re easy to pick out with the old logo gear.  Depending on which logo they are sporting, you can determine when they jumped off the wagon.  

At dinner last night at a local haunt we frequent at the beach, we walked in with our gear on and actually had someone howl Duuuuvaaaallll!!!! From the bar, which got an immediate response from most of the patrons there.  This went on all night.  Pretty cool.

Brady is stellar with his quick release. So I predict we'll see a lot of passes to the flat for the RBs. If we get a nice running game going, that will open the play-action, and that's when Brady can be deadly.

The year they won it, they recorded 44 sacks.  We had 55 this year.

The Super Bowl champion LOB defense had 4 defensive TDs.  The Jaguars have seven (7) this year.

2013 Seattle was first against the pass.  So were this year's Jaguars.

That Seattle defense forced more turnovers than we did.

Statistically, we're in the ball park with that Seattle team.

Our DL is better than theirs, as is our CBs and LBs. 

They had the edge at S.

This is a crucial point to hit on.  It isn't all about the sacks.  This DL has shown the ability to create consistent pressure in the majority of games this season.  QB pressures are more critical than sacks.  Sacks are a fluff stat and fun to talk about but what matters is the amount of pressure you can get.  This Jaguars team is capable of bringing a lot of heat on the QB.

Yup, I stand corrected. It was a tougher game than I thought it would be. Brady plus *any* time on the clock is all the hope Patriots fans need. You guys had a great season, hopefully you build upon it. See you next year!
