The Saints D is good. Better than I presumed. But thats no excuse for 50%, 100 yards passing in a playoff game. That was a horribly ineffective game for Russell Wilson. I hate Seattles offense. Hate it. 

 

Okay, that is fine.  But you said what you said to make Russell Wilson and that offense seem worse then they are because hey, if they actually played a good pass D then your argument is less valid.  And yes, Wilson did not have a good passing game regardless of how good the other defense was.

Yes, I am very excited.  I've always liked Seattle.  Not sure if it's their uniforms or their cool stadium but they've been my favorite NFC team for a while now.  I think Gus Bradley was a great hire and am very excited for the future.  We need a QB though.  Would love to find a Russel Wilson in the draft.

Have you watched the playoffs this year? The Patriots just won a game playing smash mouth run the ball down your throat offense. And where are the colts and eagles at this week?

Thats funny, all of the other QB also played in real football this past Sunday and none of them were held to such disgustingly low numbers.

Russell Wilson consistently wins games.   Wilson's multi-dimensional skills also makes the Seahawks running game better,  which in turn aids their Defense,  The bottom line is regardless of Wilson's stats the other day,  he was the winning QB and is 6 days away from playing for the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl.   He must be doing plenty right.  

 

While I rate Andrew Luck higher than all of the other young QB's in the NFL,    it's easy to appreciate the skills and intangibles Russell Wilson brings to the table.   He's w/o a doubt the one player the Seahawks can't afford to lose,   though Richard Sherman is the closest thing to that on the Defensive Side of the ball.

ah, I stand corrected. They do. But Harbaugh is still better than Carroll, as he's won 5 in since 2011, which was his first year.

We shall see, that is why they play the game.  And if he doesn't win?  Seattle is the toughest place to play in football and 9ers have struggled there.

I remember campaigning for the Jags to fire Del Rio after the 2010 season and get Harbaugh. People laughed and said "why do you want a college coach?"....blah blah blah Spurrier, blah blah blah......

 

I may miss on QB from time to time, but I know coaches. Every head coach that I've been uber high on and advised the Jags to hire when they had an opening (or should have had an opening in the post 2010 case) , i,e, Harbaugh, Kelly, McCoy, O Brien, has been a good one.

Harbaugh may be a great coach but lets not pretend he didn't walk into a gem of a roster situation. Very similar to Andy Reid with the Chiefs this year. He is a good coach but he also had a good starting roster to work with.


I'm not as familiar with the Seahawks roster when Carroll took over.

Actually I believe the correct # of playoff wins under the Russell/Carroll regime that TMD was specifically referring to is 2. They beat the Redskins after trailing early by 14 points in the game that RGIII got hurt, lost the next 1 to ATL and then just beat the Saints this weekend. RW has only been in the league 2 years like Luck and RGIII.

 

Carroll's 3rd playoff win was when Marshawn Lynch went Beast quake mode all over the defending SB champion Saints and Matt Hasselbeck was their QB, not RW.

I'd take Wilson over Luck any day of the week. Except that day when we need a triggerhappy QB who likes throwing INTs. Air Arians broke Luck

 

What kind of offense/team would Seattle be if they had Luck as their QB instead of RW?? Would they still be hosting the NFCCG this weekend?? Would they be even better then they are right now??

 

They sure would be a lot more fun to watch on offense, but would they be as successful as they were this year?? The #1 seed??

 

They would certainly have to cut down on Luck's INT's in the playoffs, but I would think they wouldn't be as high as they are now b/c Luck wouldn't have to do as much as he has to try to do with the Colts to win a game.
