Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

So you are the expert, explain in specific details why you think “military grade” weapons that civilians have access to as such are a fallacy?

I’d say as a 22 year combat veteran that is actually proficient with numerous weapons systems and with documented lethality, I’m qualified to challenge your statement. Why does congress have to do anything with an AR15? The M16 and A1-A4 variant fire a 5.56 round and offered in select fire three round burst and auto. Slowly being replaced with newer rifles and rounds considered more lethal. You realize M16s are no longer manufactured for civilians? They were banned in 1986 and the limited availabilty has collectors paying $20 grand or more. You also must jump through some pretty big hoops to own it if you have the funds. These aren’t the individuals shooting folks. Sorry, but the hood isn’t slinging an M16 of any variant. FYI, the AR-15 is semiautomatic and shoots a .223 projectile based off of the .22 caliber round common in single shot rifles found in country kids closets and on the shelf of most Walmarts. There is also this fallacy that automatic weapons are more deadly. This is false. Heard the term ‘spray and pray’? A loose military term that speaks to the true intent of automatic rate of fire. It is designed as a way to provide suppressing fire in a fire fight with no accuracy intended. It suppresses the enemy so that we can advance or collect on target. You spray a stream of bullets and your lucky to hit anything with muzzle rise, barrel heat, etc. It’s only practical in the mentioned form and a waste of ammo. The m249 is the weapon of choice for suppression. ![]()

We have been pushing to get back to 7.62 for a loooong time. Received a few modded M4 for 7.62 use and loved em, except ammo and barrel weight. Still testing the ballistics and lethality of the 6.5 and 6.8 variants. In any case, a change is coming. I think part of the problem is the AR in AR15...
Originally it was the AR10, in 7.62x51 before being scaled down and called the AR15 before it became the M16. The AR stands for ARmalite, the Company that first made it... the guy who designed it was a former aeronautics engineer who wanted to make a rifle with the latest and greatest polymers to make a lightweight rifle. People all assume AR is Assault Rifle. Noooooooope. Once again, research is the enemy of the left.
I own 3 military grade weapons: a 1911, an M1Carbine and a 1903 Springfield. All of them have more combat kills than any [BLEEP] plastic AR-15.

It doesn't have the ammo capacity of the newer .45s like an H&K Mk23 but I love how it looks and feels in my hand. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

A number of you guys seem to be in love with your weapons. lol ... not that there is anything wrong with that.
You don't need to be Dr. Phil to see what's going on here. A friend of mine is convinced that if you made such people have to choose between their weapon and their Bible, they would select their gun every time. I also think NRA Wayne goes to bed every night dreaming of another black Democrat President. So good for business.

Fortunately, we have the right to religion AND to arms. In this country you don't have to like either or partake in anything related. Unfortunately, some people choose to live life within the confines of their narrow minds and seek to limit those rights, you know, because the government knows what's best for ya. Yay for socialism!
