Yeah... but a 14 mil per year contract, assuming he has a hit of $14 mil in one year, is 8% of the 2018 Cap. That's a lot of Cap space tied up into one position that requires several players to fill the spot. On top of the man coming off an ACL tear.

I agree that someone is going to throw a ton of money at him, and good on him if he gets it. But I also understand why it's not financially responsible to do so.

Was saying a few days ago that I think the crux of negotiations would be about that first year. Jags likely want it loaded with incentives followed by an out in year 2/3 as is standard for us.

On Arobs side he's thinking, why should I take incentives , less security and likely less money than what the open market gives me?

Just wondering - do we really know that ARob is asking to be paid big bucks?

Is it possible we’ve come to him with a low-ball offer, or a short-term one (because of his injury) and his team think he deserves more?

My guess would be that we offered him some cheapish team friendly deal much like the Bortles offer. The difference being Bortles knows he's a bit below average as a QB and was willing to be paid like it. Arob knows he is a tier below the elite WR and another team will be more than happy to pay him like it.

I would guess they offered him a solid deal for a guy coming off an ACL but showed some promise. They have shown they will pay you if you perform that’s why I beleive he got a fair deal from the team. We don’t have a history of cheating our players

Why so though? We offered Linder, Hurns, and Telvin fair market deals did we not?

There's two simple reasons why Robinson wouldn't sign a deal here.

First, he has $$$$ in his eyes and nothing else. Simply wants as much as he can get.

Second, he just flat out doesn't want to be here.

If we don't sign Arob, then we have to draft a WR in round 1. This would be a dumb move if we don't resign him.

When they show video of him, all he is doing is jogging/walking in a straight line. Nothing lateral yet. Nothing explosive. Too many questions for the FO to place a tag. Can he even jump the same anymore?

This is being ignored by everyone and it is important. None of our experts have seen any of the medical reports. On top of that, somebody said yesterday that he is likely to put up middling number in his first year back for the $16 mill and then walk anyway when the year is over. That makes a lot of sense.

Exactly. We did just fine without him last year. We can wait until round 3 or 4 and find quality a wideout on top of our current guys improving.

Welp...if we don't re-sign him, WR becomes much higher on the list of draft priorities.

Still time to get a deal done. We'll see what happens over the next week.

We could kill it next year with the compensatory picks if A Rob, Lee, Colvin, Grant, and Omameh go elsewhere and we arent very active this year in FA

Probably a 4th at best for Arob. 5th for Colvin and 5/6th for Lee.

I think WR is easily one of our 3 biggest needs. You gotta score points to win.

Lee had 752 yards and 3 TDs last year. The year before that he had 800 yards and 3 TDs.

Arizona got a 3rd for losing Campbell. Campbell signed a 4 year 60 mil.  I think A Rob will at least get that when Indy, Chi., and SF start the bidding wars

Top 5 needs for me

1. G
2. TE
3. G/C
4. WR
5. CB
