No state tax is big time money. Bonus gets hit at capital gain rate as it is. NY is a big tax state (lived there for long time).  They would have to be 30% over our offer to compensate. Unless you get ad or outside revenue opportunities, FL and TX are a huge boon.

With all the moves they have made in free agency, a running back like Michel in the 2nd would be a possibility. Not sure if they'd keep Yeldon in that case depending on his salary cap situation.

With the signing of Norwell, add another guard in the middle of the draft, put Marcedes on the left side of the line, Niles Paul to the right........

Run the wishbone with Fournette and Michel.

You can definitely tell the oldest FO member in the league is in charge now with the change in contract philosophies. They aren't taking care of the future now nearly like they did when the youngins were running the front office.

Thats a big reach. The reason its more back loaded is because we are actively competing right now.

Calais was 30 when he signed the deal. 
Telvin much smaller deal  and wasn't on the market.
Linder wasn't on the market
Church much smaller deal
Gibson much smaller deal.

Dead money for smaller deals is always going to be less. Extensions are always much more team friendly.

You're pretty much always going to see backloaded deals unless your team is loaded with cap space which we're not.

The idea is two-fold. For starters, it acts as an incentive for the player to keep earning his higher cap hit. Also, the final year(s) is often paper money meaning the player likely never sees it as he would most likely either find himself waived or extended first.
