Jermey Pruitt to Georgia

#1

Wins the national championship and leaves a loaded defense to go to Georgia a team that has 10 starters coming back on defense! Good for Georgia but I'm sad as a noles fan lol

looks like the SEC is still the crown jewel.

This isn't even a lateral move for him. Oh well. Jimbo will find someone else.

It's not a lateral move? What is it then?

I think maybe he's trying to prove he can run his defense without elite talent. Fsu is loaded on defense as well as his past bama DB's he was coaching. Maybe if he can turn around Georgia's defense he lands a head coaching job in a few years

If that's the case, then yeah, I get that.

Pruitt is a smart man. Georgia's defense was down last year, and they have a lot of talent coming back that were young, and guys who were injured. The turnout could look very dramatic statistically. Pruitt is after a HC job in the near future.

Jimbo fought to get all of the assistants raises when he was getting his contract done. Pruitt was in line to get a raise.

There has to be something else to it. Something we may never hear.

That's possible. I personally just think Pruitt is doing what's best for him to get a HC job. He could be one and done at Georgia too.

If he stayed at FSU one more year, he probably would have had a head coaching job at the conclusion of next season. Either way, he still may end up with one.

I'm not sure how it helps him leaving. It is a bigger risk. As bigjohn stated there is something else to this. Really sucks. I know jimbo will get someone else, but damn, this came out of nowhere.

Maybe he just doesn't like working with Jimbo?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Still trying to figure out why Pruitt is leaving.  He's basically making the same $$, but now coaching on a team not heading to the title game.  Like someone else said, why not stay one more season and then go after a HC gig?  The worst thing that could happen is Pruitt gets exposed coaching a bad defense and ruins his future all together.

I think he'll be fine, but still do not understand this.  Noles are stacked and I'm guessing Fisher will switch Kelly to DC. Pruitt is taking a huge risk.
