The Premier League is back this weekend following the International Break...
This weeks games are as follows: Saturday: Crystal Palace v Liverpool West Brom v Burnley Manchester United v Swansea Brighton v Leicester Newcastle v Huddersfield Watford v Bournemouth West Ham v Southampton Everton v Manchester City Sunday: Arsenal v Stoke Chelsea v Tottenham With the title race all but wrapped up, there are some big clashes at the wrong end of the table.. West Ham v Southampton in particular.. 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Palace 1-2 Liverpool
West Brom 1-2 Burnley Man United 2-0 Swansea Brighton 0-2 Leicester Newcastle 1-0 Huddersfield Watford 2-2 Bournemouth West Ham 3-0 Southampton Everton 1-3 Man City Arsenal 3-0 Stoke Chelsea 1-3 Tottenham So Southampton now drop into the bottom three, but have a game in hand over Palace above them.. I don't think they're strong enough to stay up, though. Manchester City could wrap the title up with one more win.. Their next match is Vs Manchester United at home. I actually think United will hold them off for another week, with pride at stake, they won't want their noisy neighbours to win the title against them. Regarding the bottom three.. West Brom, Stoke & Southampton... I think that's how it stays, unfortunately. 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...
I see Fulham extended their unbeaten run to 17 games yesterday. They're firmly in 3rd place with 7 games left.
I don't see them breaking into the top 2 because Cardiff are 7 points clear of them with a game in hand, the run-in should be exciting, though! 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...
Yet another win for Fulham tonight..

While I agree 7 points is hard to make up, Cardiff has a much tougher schedule down the stretch and the tiebreaker would go to Fulham (if they can make up the 7 points). In any event, YES, a very difficult task to make up 7 points when Cardiff has a game in hand as well. On a side note, the race for the #6 spot is going to be crazy. Sunderland gets relegated once again --- what a fall in a 2-year period. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

The gap is now only 2 points.. with Cardiff losing 1-0 to Wolves (despite having 2 injury time penalties and missing them both). Cardiff have 6 remaining games, Fulham have 5.. it's going to be interesting.. 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...
Recent results:
Everton 0-0 Liverpool Stoke 1-2 Tottenham Watford 1-2 Burnley Brighton 1-1 Huddersfield West Brom 1-1 Swansea Bournemouth 2-2 Palace Leicester 1-2 Newcastle Man City 2-3 Man United Arsenal 3-2 Southampton Chelsea 1-1 West Ham Some huge results in there this week. Specifically City/United derby. Although this is highly unlikely to effect the outcome of the league title, City would have been crowned Champions had they beat their Manchester rivals this weekend. It would appear as though José had other plans. Even more impressively from a United standpoint, they were 2-0 down at Half Time. Chelsea drawing to West Ham leaves them 5th and 10 points off the top 4, Arsenal in 6th are 13 points from the top 4. Save from some huge capitulation from any of the top 4, what you see it what you get, for me. City will finish top, United, Liverpool and Tottenham will follow (In that order). At the bottom, West Brom picked up a point, but are still at the bottom 10 points from safety. West Ham, Swansea, Huddersfield and Palace all picked up points (albeit 1). Southampton & Stoke both lost leaving them both in the relegation zone 3 & 4 points from safety respectively. Southampton, however, have a game in hand over Palace in 17th, but their run in is as follows: Chelsea (H), Leicester (A), Bournemouth (H), Everton (A), Swansea (H), Man City (A). Week 34 fixtures: Saturday 14th April: Southampton v Chelsea Burnley v Leicester Swansea v Everton Palace v Brighton Huddersfield v Watford Liverpool v Bournemouth Tottenham v Man City Sunday 15th April: Newcastle v Arsenal Man United v West Brom Monday 16th April: West Ham v Stoke 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...
Fulham beat Reading to extend their unbeaten streak to 20 and since Cardiff lost to Aston Villa that moves Fulham into #2, though Cardiff still have a game in hand.
Barcelona Chokes !!! Unbelievable
I'm always kind of glad when the extremely high paying teams lose. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
South Hampton v Chelsea
Let's go blues. We are in a terrible run of form but let's see how this goes

Finally, something went right (for us) this past weekend when Chelsea miraculously came back against Southampton and then Crystal Palace held on to a 3-2 halftime lead to claim a victory. CP has a favorable schedule in the final month (no top 6 opponents). Just like Southampton, they'd blown leads time and time again this season.

This past weeks' results:
Southampton 2-3 Chelsea Burnley 2-1 Leiciester Swansea 1-1 Everton Palace 3-2 Brighton Huddersfield 1-0 Watford Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth Tottenham 1-3 Man City Newcastle 2-1 Arsenal Man United 0-1 West Brom West Ham 1-1 Stoke With Manchester United losing to West Brom, Manchester City clinched the Premier League title with 5 remaining games. Interestingly, Burnley are only 2 points off Arsenal in 6th and are yet to play them again this season. If Burnley finish in 6th (Arsenal 7th), this will mean that Arsenal's 2018/19 season will start in July (Europa League), and if there's a team in the PL who NEED a summer off, it's Arsenal. Especially given that a lot of their team will be playing in the World Cup in June/July. This weeks fixtures: Tuesday 17th: Brighton v Tottenham Wednesday 18th: Bournemouth v Man United Thursday 19th: Burnley v Chelsea Leicester v Southampton Saturday 21st: West Brom v Liverpool Watford v Palace Sunday 22nd: Arsenal v West Ham Stoke v Burnley Man City v Swansea Monday 23rd: Everton v Newcastle Focus is firmly on the bottom of the league now.. here are the remaining fixtures for the teams in-and-around the relegation fight: Brighton (13th - 35 points) Tottenham (H) Burnley (A) Man United (H) Man City (A) Liverpool (A) West Ham (14th - 35 points) Arsenal (A) Man City (H) Leicester (A) Man United (H) Everton (A) Huddersfield (15th - 35 points) Everton (H) Man City (A) Chelsea (A) Arsenal (H) Crystal Palace (16th -34 points) Watford (A) Leicester (H) Stoke (A) West Brom (H) Swansea City (17th - 33 points) Man City (A) Chelsea (H) Bournemouth (A) Southampton (H) Stoke (A) Southampton (18th - 28 points) Leicester (A) Bournemouth (H) Everton (A) Swansea (A) Man City (H) Stoke City (19th - 28 points) Burnley (H) Liverpool (A) Palace (H) Swansea (A) West Brom (20th - 24 points) Liverpool (H) Newcastle (A) Tottenham (H) Palace (A) 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...

Huddersfield, West Ham, or Brighton loses the rest of their matches -- which is possible !! Probable-no Possible-yes. I excluded Crystal Palace due to their remaining schedule which is somewhat favorable I think the magic number is 36 or 37 for Southampton as they have a huge point differential over Huddersfield. |
