Not that I remotely think this is the case, but I would love it if Derek Carr ends up clearly being the best QB of this draft 5 years down the road just to validate what a crap shoot drafting QBs is. Draft 'em every year until you find one that can perform on Sundays. Even the most educated guess is still a guess.

Why does this matter? There are 32 different execs with 32 different views on each player. Some love Teddy and some don't, what's the big deal? That's just the nature of the draft process. This means absolutely nothing right now.


As for Jeremiah, I like the guy. Don't read anything into his mocks he will change his pick for every team multiple times leading up to the draft. He likes to give each team multiple options.

This isn't necessarily breaking news. Someone else reported the same thing a week or two ago, citing a scout from our very own AFC South (if I recall correctly.)

 

Really... just look at the child and imagine him as a top QB in the NFL. I personally just don't see it.

 

Taking a look at the school and the system he comes from, you certainly aren't talking about an NFL QB factory by any means. Yes, there are many questions behind the stats that to me look like a lot of smoke and mirrors.

 

The article I posted did not say which division the AFC scout works in.

 

The college a player goes to is irrelevant when teams determine what they can and can't do, how good they are, etc. Ben Roethlisberger went to a school that rarely has future NFL stars. So did Chad Pennington, Jay Cutler, and David Garrard. If I decide Blake Bortles would not be a good pick for the Jaguars, none of the reasons for that will be the school he attends.

 

Of course, statistics are not the way scouts evaluate players because they mean nothing to people who never watched the games. That is true for all quarterbacks.

No it's not. Chris Christie is being heavily criticized everywhere. Only a few AFC scouts are really saying Teddy Bridgewater should not be a first round pick.

Ive only watched Teddy play in a few games but every game ive been more impressed with him than anyone else. Watching him move around the pocket is everything we wish Gabb would have done. If we had the first pick id take him.

I agree with those teams. I think Bridgewater is good, but I agree that his value is overblown.


I think he will be an above average QB if he can stay healthy against NFL talent. I don't think he will be the "anointed elite one" that so many have declared.

I am sure some people are overrated because of team needs. That's what everyone said when they predicted Matt Barkley will be a top 10 pick. People are saying the same thing about Blake Bortles now - he will be picked high because four of the top five teams need a quarterback.
