Definitely looking like a really strong move here. I didn't realize he was that good in his senior year. I kinda wrote him off because of the character concerns but he could turn into a bookend tackle.

Hays Carlyon:
Dave says team comfortable Richardson's off-field issues (two DWI suspensions) are well behind him. Says football means a great deal to him and he's seen how quickly it can be taken away.

Caldwell said Richardson will begin working at RT, but could be a G option and also LT. #Jaguars

Awesome

I know.... that's what I'm thinking.

The tough part is when a guy is too tall to effectively play G. Richardson weighed in at 6' 5 5/8", 306 lbs.
Norwell is 6’6”

That's right around the upper limit and could have played into why he went undrafted.

Richardson is a high risk/high reward player. Which is bad in the 1st round, but fine in the 4th.

This seems like at the very least we have some quality depth at RT. Good pick.

Sound like he could be a quality starter at tackle.

Another “one for the future”, but if he can play at RG too, that’ll be a bonus.

Pleased with this one (and not worried about the drug and DWI issues - he’s hardly Antonio Callaway)

He's projected easily as a solid starting RT in the NFL.

On his nfl profile, his first "weakness" reads...
  • Built like a guard

Here's some of his strengths...

  • Thick, wide bubble with power in his hips.
  • Generates leverage at point of attack in short-yardage "gotta have it" situations
  • Keeps blocks centered and sustained
  • Can access torque from hips to turn defenders out of hole
  • Uses strong, well-timed punch from his outside hand. Can rattle pads when he lands

That was definitely really cool. Hopefully someone that happy to get drafted won't mess it up by drinking and driving or toking up (at least during drug testing season)

In the 6th round jags draft a punter....NYC replies....hope he can slide down and push Cann.

Is Cann that bad to you?

That's very cool. When someone has two drug fails and a dwi, I really worry about him - but I hear that reaction and think maybe he's finally figured it out. I really hope so, for  his sake as well as the Jag's.

Character concerns LOL. Trying to crucify him before he even steps foot in the league. This fan base is so dumb.

Thanks, good article. He saying and doing the right things. Hopefully the discipline and comradery of this team will help him maintain it. If so this might've been a steal.
