So Andrew Luck is just above-average

Guys. Tom Brady was average this year too. He had 2 more INTs than Luck and 2 less touchdowns (counting rushing).

Doesn't show up in the stats that he's elite!!!11!!11!

Quote:How about 8 4th qtr comebacks and 11 game winning drives in two seasons.  Let me guess...those don't
 count?
Of course not. If you didn't watch pro football you'd think Luck was average. Of course you'd probably think the same of Tom Brady.

Russell Wilson is 4th in ypa and 7th in passer rating.

I think Brady is allowed a down year considering his history. Probably hasn't been elite this season.

That Tebow fans always used wins because they had nothing else stat wise to use.

How is that comparing their play?

Ruffled? I'm far from ruffled. I'm more entertained than anything. Your posts are hilarious!

I think you've reached that part of the argument where you've realized your wrong, but your going to continue onward anyways, because at this point you really can't go back. That'd just be down right pathetic, now wouldn't it?

Not really us Brits can usually accept defeat.

But you haven't really posted anything that backs up your point. I asked for 1 individual stat and you can't even do that.

Even your mate Adam tried to get me with Russell Wilson and I found 2 stats without mentioning wins.

Did Alex Smith Carry the Chiefs to their great turnaround?

I haven't heard anyone claim that or that he's a great QB? Look a bit deeper and the stats don't suggest that is the case either. He ranks around Luck in most categories.

Now I could be like you and stubbornly pretend Smith is a great player and call you stupid for not agreeing. But that would make me look silly

Colts go 2-14 prior to Luck. Colts go 11-5 two years in a row with Luck. That's a stat BTW (that for some reason you keep pushing off as not or that is because someone else lead us there).

Luck had 27 touchdowns, 9 INTs this season. He changed offensive systems, had 5 KEY offensive starters go down during the season, despite both of those things he improved off his first season. Achieved most passing yards by a NFL QB in their 1st two seasons. Multiple comebacks, intangibles off the chart.

One thing you fail to realize is this offensive staff the Colts put together REALLY tried to push the "power run game", and even with this Luck still succeeded despite there being no power run game available.

It continues to show you don't know what you're talking about especially when you claim the Colts "relied on their old regime players" and that consists of 2 players & 1 one who didn't even play half a season LOL.

Keep typing away that he's average, it won't make it a reality. Smile

Actually I am starting to question if he is.

Obviously Luck helped with this. Painter is the worst nfl starter i've seen in my 10 years or so of fandom.

However it's a team sport why is Luck fully credited? You could just as likely say that it was Pagano or Arians? In fact Luck's numbers are down since Arians, so maybe he should get all the credit. Who the hell knows? Maybe its TY Hilton, Maybe it's just having a functional QB?

Maybe you have had a really weak schedule and played in a poor division

Numbers are down from Arians to Hamilton because of the offensive change (Like I mentioned in the post above that you obviously skipped over). Arians was a more take chance and throw deep (more INTs) and Hamilton was a more run central & pass when you need to (until the end of the season, he caught on and realize we can't run at all).

Of course it's a team sport, but the QB position is the most important position in the NFL if not all of sports. If you don't have a good QB, it's very hard to win in this league.

Also, stop using the weak schedule/division thing (the AFC South played 2 of the toughest divisions this year... AFC West & NFC West). Colts proved time & time again against the best in the league. Yes, they had huge let downs, but that happens with a young team with multiple key injuries. They've beat 3 of the 4 remaining teams left in the playoffs.

Of course Mathis was HUGE part of our success, but it's impossible for a defensive player to will your team to 11 wins... IMPOSSIBLE - something lastonealive claims he has done.

You contributed the record to Luck's success. If you're saying that Mathis affected the outcome of a game, then we're arguing how many games were affected by players others than Luck. Either way, those 11 wins aren't all Luck's. Mathis's performance is more than just a game or two.

We like to attribute the team's success to its QB, but players like Mathis are sometimes responsible for a couple themselves.

Quote:Obviously luck was part of those wins. He's far better than any qb in the AFC south. Indy benefitted from the worst division in football.

Without Mathis, Luck would still win games. Without Luck, Mathis would not win as many games.

Do you understand? The QB position is light years more important than any other position in the NFL (or sports in general for that matter)
