If given the starting job, (as he deserves), Cole would most certainly break 1,000 yards. Unfortunately, I believe the team is set on making Lee and Moncrief starters with Chark mixed in as well. If this happens, I see the passing game taking a hit. Lee offers nothing more than being an average possession receiver who drops some very catchable balls. Moncrief has height and athleticism, but has been plagued by injuries and "the dropsies" his entire career and Chark is a rookie. IMO, the starters should continue to be Cole and Westbrook, as I believe both can be 1,000 yard receivers, if given the entire season. Chark should then be mixed in as the 3rd receiver, who can make big plays, especially on 3rd and long. In any case, I see Chark as a starter by 2019.

With Robinson out last year, Cole was the best receiver. He barely played in the first six games. Had he started all year he would have easily exceeded 1000 yards.

But I don't see the Jags giving him the opportunity after signing Lee and Moncrief and drafting Chark.

I think Chark was brought along more for 2019 than 2018. Cole will absolutely be seeing a lot of playing time and he will see more time than Chark. Moncreif and Cole on the outside with Lee in the slot.

I hope you're right, because I believe Cole can be a very good NFL receiver for years to come.

I don't think he will. Not because he can't. But just because of how this offense has been built. It'll be run first, run heavy and I believe they're going to get the TE position more involved in the passing game. Add in the fact that we have Westbrook, Lee and Chark and potentially Moncrief and it just seems more and more likely that we'll have a steady rotation to keep legs fresh to take advantage with the play action game.

I do think Cole will be a crucial part of our offense. However, I don't know if he'll be our #1. For how young our team is and to go through the playoffs and see what it takes to win like they did was very beneficial. But it all depends on how Blake and our run game perform. If they play consistent and strong, we have a few WRs that could get 1,000 yards.....

(not meaning more than one 1,000 yarder in one season; just more than one has the ability to)

Yup. If I can say one thing, it's that Marrone and TC definitely make sure the best players are on the field, and aren't afraid to shake things up. See Poz going to SLB and the "benching" of Blake in pre season. 

I'm not worried about the depth chart of WRs. The best will play. And that also means the "best" for that situation too. We'll probably see more Moncrief and Lazard in goal line situations than we will Chark and Cole.

I agree listening to Marrone that as long as he's true to himself, he's going to evaluate how guys are playing.

"Figure to start" isn't exactly some etched in stone proclamation. It's just an estimation. 

Estimating that Lee will start seems like a fairly wise estimation to me, but it is definitely up in the air until they see exactly what they've got in Moncrief and decide on a primary slot receiver.
