Pirk who do you think we should draft and where?

I remember predicting this a few weeks ago with vagrant, and of course he disputed it:

per rotoword:

ESPN's Adam Caplan writes that "size is going to be a factor for some teams" with Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater.

"Some people think he'll measure closer to 6-foot-1," Caplan tweeted. The vultures (not Caplan) are beginning to descend around Bridgewater. The consensus No. 1 pick during the regular season appears to have been supplanted by Johnny Manziel by some national analysts. Your friendly draft correspondents at Rotoworld refuse to get pulled under by the riptide: Bridgewater remains our No. 1 quarterback.

As long as he can see over the line, its no issue. I think he will measure out at 6'2 though.

I have no idea.  I'm not a scout.

But, based on what I personally see... I think taking any of these QBs at three presents more risk than reward.  I don't see any being top 10 material.

If anyone were stupid enough to let Clowney or Matthews fall and he's tops on your board... you have to take them.

On the other hand, I could understand if they'd take a shot with Manziel.  I wouldn't agree with taking him that high, but I'd understand why they took the risk.  I think Bortles is the safest of the three but no way would I imagine he goes that high.  If Teddy drops I believe that's a huge "stay away" signal, because I believe (as I always have) that it's my suspicion the scouts opinion of him isn't nearly as high as some of the early fanboys and draftnicks are (or at least were.)

I could more easily see someone like McCarron with our second round pick, plus someone like Logan Thomas with our fifth or sixth.  I wouldn't have a problem with that at all.

No matter what QB we pick or when (even if it's Manziel in the first), I'm afraid we'll be taking another QB in the first round in the next three years.  Some are dead set the savior is here.  I'm highly suspicious.  Like when we took Leftwich, if we're facing another Roethlisberger next year... you pull the trigger again.  You can't be too sure at QB.  That was our problem in the past.  We settled and quit drafting.

Not saying its an issue. The height isn't any more of an issue for Teddy as it is for Manziel.

My point is we had a few posters on here that were adamant that Teddy was 6'3", 220, and there was just no way. You can see it with your own eyes just by watching him.

He's closer to 6' 1", 195.

The thin frame is more of a concern than the height.

I agree with you and have said so...just we take a guy this year (even at 3) if you have a chance to get a true franchise guy next year you take him...QB is to important of a spot not to address early and often until you find the guy to take you to the next level.

What do you see in Bortles?  I was not blown away by his bowl game, but I will admit that was all I saw of him...IMO he is this years Teddy B...Bridgewater blew up after the UF bowl game and Bortles is blowing up after his Baylor bowl win.

I still think he comes in at over 6'2'' and over 200.

Anyone who says Bortles/Manziel are safer options than Bridgewater, I tend to question either your knowledge of the game/or motive to saying such a delirious and ill advised statement.

I will be sure to book mark this page

Are you talking about Teddy Bridgewater? He is officially 6-2 1/2.

Johnny Manziel is the only quarterback whose height could be an issue. According to NFL.com, he is six feet even.

I see a bigger ("right sized") Drew Brees in Bortles.  But like Drew, I think it will take a couple years to see whether or not it's going to happen.

Drew Brees compensates by throwing the ball up. (NBC showed this when Cris Collinsworth pointed out Tony Romo throws the same way.) If a quarterback throws up like that, height is overrated.

I still think he'll put on 10-20 Ibs in his first year or two in the NFL.

One of these guys will be in teal next year.  And everyone should just be happy we have a great chance to pick an elite player.
