Meh.  It's the first preseason game.  It all goes downhill from here.

I've always said that the worst NFL team would destroy the best college team and I believe that.  There is a pretty sharp drop-off between starters and backups (usually).

Very true. But Kessler can’t get much work in because he’s running for his life every snap.

One thing that I've determined myself, Kessler can/will be a decent backup.  I wouldn't be confident with him for a full season, but if God forbid Blake gets hurt, I think he could fill in and work nicely.

First team offense looked great despite the missing pieces on the offensive line. One year ago Blake looked by far his worst and the QB out there now is a completely different guy very confident. The defense wasn't aesthetically pleasing but it's preseason we look alive just glad we have some football coming.

I'm satisfied. Besides the team looking physically solid, I see a team confident in its coaching because the coaching is confident. We have the full package.

He looked competent against non-starters. As was mentioned earlier, he's slow in his progressions. With a first team D bringing pressure, he may come apart. Plus, we didn't see him make any tight coverage completions. His mechanics and field awareness are good, but he hasn't passed a stress test yet.
