At least Fred drastically cut down the use of "amazing" yesterday.
I don't mind Sexton.  Can never forget his epic fail on How Wants To Be A Millionaire.  Was so cocky with Regis Philbin, then he flamed out immediately.  
Boselli, is unlistenable (made up word?).  Sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles.
Frangie trys too hard.  Sounds like a HS announcer. Embarrassing.

After reading several articles online one would think Cousins lit it up.  Most focused on BB bring, "worrisome, uneven, struggling."  Cousins sucked.  Our D was part of thevproblrm, but the Vikings fans have to be panicking after that atrocious performance.

Fournette was caught in the backfield and Fred said "Blake has nowhere to go."

Fred also called the Minnesota Vikings " the Saints".

Boy o boy, what a mess that officiating crew was. If that's a precursor to how they're going to call games this season, we're going to be in for a lot of terrible games.

This new rule/s is definitely going to determine the outcomes of some games. The players don't even know what's a flag, or whats not a flag anymore. The fans/media are confused as well and it's obvious that the officials trying to make these calls don't have the slightest clue either. 

On a different note though...

Harrison was all over the field today. It's going to be interesting to see how they work him into the game plan each week.

I'm fairly certain the league is going to reprimand the head ref for that roughing the passer call on what was a clean Kessler sack. That was easily among the most bogus calls I've ever witnessed.

Kudos to:

 Rashad Greene for a terrific punt return, which came at crunch-time. Combined with outstanding WR skills exhibited throughout camp so far, Rashad earned one of the WR roster spots.

Tyler Patmon for exhibiting the type of play worthy of a roster spot.

T. J. Yeldon for exhibiting the type of pride which leads to excellent preparation and on to excellent performance.

Greene did have a great PR near the end of the game, however, I'm wondering if many here might have missed it. When watching LIVE on NFL Network, I'm thinking they switched up to the next game just before Greene's PR happened.

Patmon probably made the team today.  I 'm hoping that Greene kept his chances alive.  Mickens flashed early as a punt returner, but I don't think he's a better receiver than Greene. Just my opinion.

I thought Kessler deserved a Purple Heart with all the hits he took--and he still had an off-the-charts completion percentage.  

I'll also call it right now---Ngakoue is going to be the Defensive MVP this year.

I might be a little shallow minded, but Mickens' ability to go down on punt coverage and field the punt for the other team inside the 10, makes me want him on our special teams unit.  I think we benefit from keeping Greene and Mickens. Big fan of Mickens and his wildcard status.  How can we make that happen? Dump and extra d-lineman or TE this year.  We need to keep 7 receivers from this bunch.

There's zero chance we keep 7 WRs.

I liked that sack dance! The NFL needs to "get with it" and stop dictating what is and what is not appropriate. I saw nothing wrong with his dance.

It was borderline obscene.  Saw something similar Friday night with the same result.  Atlanta game I believe.  They are gonna throw a flag on that every time.

I noticed that in the Falcons game. It made me think there must be a new point of emphasis to eliminate any sexually-suggestive moves. I guess they don't want players insinuating they just raped another player.

He continues to exceed my expectations for him in the passing game, but he continues to confirm my doubts about him as anything more than a short yardage/wear you down over 20+ carries back.

At this point, this seems accurate. I was very optimistic at over the offseason 4nette would work on putting some juke moves into his game to try and make people miss from time to time. It appears that he will just go into the season with the patented 4nette spin move and run over mentality. He obviously still has time to work on it, but unfortunately I don't think we will be seeing any of that this season. I wish this team had a rb who could make people miss in the open field. The screens would be so much more deadly. The closest thing we got is Grant, but he just tries to run by you and for whatever reason has a unique ability of not getting on the field when everyone sees its clear he needs to be on the field more.

As it turned out, once a few injuries occurred we had just enough talent at WR to scrape by.
I don't really see some great surplus.

OK - he came in with around 4 minutes to go in the game. Got in on two run stops on a three and out forced by the Jags D. 

Took part in a sack on vikes final offensive play (DB Blitz got there first and Brown cleaned up.)

91 is all over the place, chasing plays from behind and creating havoc everywhere. I never even saw Blair Brown. Leon Jacobs, LJ48, is also pretty active but a little rookie-tentative. I'm suspecting he could be quite good.

1.  The new rules are killing the game.  The "helmet rule" tackle by Bouye and the "roughing the passer" sack on Kessler were clearly not fouls and should have never been called.  Those are just two examples of bad calls in that game.

2.  TJ Yeldon will either be a Jaguar his whole career or will end up being a "feature back" on some other team.  He is clearly the #2 at his position and could quite possibly challenge for the #1 position.  He's that good and can bring back the "one two-punch" that we had with Freddy T. and Maurice Jones Drew.  The question is, what kind of contract will he be looking for after this season?

3.  While special teams were addressed in the off-season, there was a lot of sloppy play in coverage on mostly punts.

4.  The offense didn't really "light it up" and the passing yards statistic is a bit misleading.  Many of the pass yards came from screens and short passes.  It was nice to see the team take a few shots, but in the end the smart play paid off.  Really, I think the offense looks fine.

5.  At the WR position, if they keep 6 I think Rashad Greene takes the final slot.

6.  At the TE position, I noticed that they gave Niles Paul and James O'Shaughnessy a lot of reps.  Neither one stood out to me, and I believe that more pass attempts went towards Paul.  IIRC he was picked up mainly for special teams.  I'm thinking that he may get the nod to be behind Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Ben Koyack.

Those are just a few of the things that stuck out to me from the game.  Keep in mind, a preseason game is just a bit more than a scrimmage.  There is no game planning, the playbook is pretty much "vanilla" on both sides of the ball and many players that would normally be playing were held out (from both teams).  Many of the players that played are "auditioning" for a job either with our team or another team.

I never worry about special teams in the pre-season.  Most of the guys on them will not be on the final roster.

Fred Taylor seemed like he was on his 8th or 9th beer announcing the game.  Slurred speech, Calling out wrong players, rambling on that makes no sense, along with a very mellow Bob Ross Tone.   He seemed to be on the sauce.

I wasn't impressed with ST, either. They didn't look great against the Saints, either. Got a few more weeks to get it right.
