Vikings vs. Rams

You seriously said "I could use LOL and call you dumb" and then essentially did that very thing. --"when the point you're trying to support is that pathetic" I mean, talking about someone's point being pathetic is pretty equal to saying it is dumb, imo. I use overthecap.com just cuz it seems easier and different. Dead cap vs dead money are different as well. We would not pay Bortles 16.5 to cut him. We would have cap money not usable, for one more season, and would only owe him 6.5 mil to kick rocks. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/jacksonville-jaguars Dead money, but only 6.5 guaranteed to pay out. (cap savings of 4.5 mil) [for the record, we have like 5 mil in dead money from a number of guys no longer on the roster] That being said... we can address the QB position without cutting him also. And the original point is that Cousins, while only locking you in for 3 years, is owed much more actual money, which is money no one else can get. These deals were done with an eye to the future. And as I said before, it isn't like Cousins is lighting it up. And obviously I think Cousins is the better QB... I'm just not all about throwing the bank at these guys like that. So in theory, we COULD cut Bortles next season. We won't be able to sign big money free agents next off season, regardless. But Cousins contract WOULD cut into being able to sign guys in 2020. And Cousins QB play is no guarantee to put us over the hump or get it done in this magical 2 year window that all you chicken littles have given us. We show less advertisements to registered users. No one cares about actual money, especially not Shad. He has paid 3 head coach salaries at one time he cares so little, he just wants to win. Cap is all that matters.
And sorry but he laughs at people and calls them dumb. I said his point was pathetic, which is different. It's also very rarely something I do, but he's all caps LOL'd at me condescendingly so many times (to obfuscate the fact that the truth isn't on his side usually) I decided to pay it back some since his point was just that bad this time.

It's odd, I am making the argument for coaching and the counter is ... well it was 2016 Jeff Fisher... hmm ok? I don't think McVay is making Goff better than what he is. That would suggest he has no talent, which is not the case. Goff has tremendous talent, but I believe McVay is developing Goff much better. His offense, as pointed out, is not complicated. It is tailor made for Goff. You switch Blake and Goff starting last year, you think Goff would be putting up those same numbers here? I don't buy it one bit. I also believe Blake has talent, but much of his years so far were wasted by Gus "Sprinkles" Bradley. Only thing he learned during those years was a "we believe in victory" song and how to throw the ball up 50-50 to AROB. When Marrone took over, IMO Blake was still very raw. Almost as if he was still a rookie in a way. Goff throws a better ball, no doubt, but I can't say there's a huge difference in Goff/Bortles in talent. They just are being coached and developed much different. I also absolutely believe an OL makes a RB better than what they are. I don't even understand how that's an argument. As for Fournette's ypc, you realize he did face like 50% 8 men in the box last season? Offense is centered around him, not Blake. Everyone knows to stop the run first against this team. Throw in Fournette in a team that passes a lot, I am sure his ypc would be more than 4.0. Again, coaching. Point still is, I don't think the talent gap between Fournette/Gurley is massive. Can't dismiss Gurley's 3.2 2016 ypc because of coaching, and not use that same principle here. Offense is very mismatch here, Fournette is power I and Blake is shotgun. Still, as for what we were discussing, I'd take the Jags roster over LAR. I just think there is so much talent here, really at every position. I would however take McVay over Marrone. Switch Marrone/McVay, you honestly think Goff would look the same? Marrone would be centering the offense around Gurley. Centering around a RB is archaic and out of style. Jared Goff's accuracy in this game was amongst the best I've seen from a QB in quite a while. His deep passes were pinpoint. The Vikings coverage wasn't bad on a number of these throws. But the ball was right where it needed to be. (09-28-2018, 06:12 PM)The_Franchise_QB Wrote:(09-28-2018, 11:52 AM)Kane Wrote: Funny... I just read an article on SI today talking about how Hack and McVay are similarly using plays that makes their QBs look good. After seeing bad performances early in their careers. I'm not saying coaching doesn't matter. I'm just tired of people taking shots at Marrone like he's a bad coach. He's not. Hack is actually pretty good too, considering he makes Bortles look better than he actually is with the playbook he designed around a very limited Bortles. Also... I think Goff is just a better QB than Bortles. And I think his coach is doing a better job of the same thing Hack is doing with Bortles. Oh and look who is hurt, again. While Gurley just beasting.
