Well, to be fair there are many people on here who have said we should take Boyd at 39...I've had several debates with them over the last month or two. I don't hate Boyd on day 3, but earlier than that is ugly.

OK. Well - I guess I don't spend as much time in the college forums as you guys.  I haven't seen anyone talking about Boyd earlier than round three for a while.  I think anything earlier than round 4 is too early.

I think Carr impressing in this type of environment should not be unexpected. i think there's little doubt that when it comes to arm talent, he is tops in this draft class.

Jaguars offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch worked with the three South team quarterbacks on Monday: Derek Carr of Fresno State, David Fales of San Jose State and Jimmy Garoppolo of Eastern Illinois.


“I really thought that it was a good day for all three of them the way they started off,” Fisch said. “These guys just arrived in yesterday, they had an install meeting last night, an offense they’ve never heard before, a system they’ve never been a part of, and with no real history in terms of a pro system and then we meet with them for 45 minutes or an hour this morning and then they’re on the field.


“They made really good throws, it was fun to watch it.


”Fisch has an added connection with Carr from working on the Houston Texans coaching staff when his older brother David Carr was drafted.


“I think the last time I saw him (Derek Carr) he was 12 years old running around the practice field, so that was kind of cool.”

I am a Boyd fan, but I am not going to make excuses for him.  If he had a bad practice then he had a bad practice.

Not bad.  He's already Robert Mathis size.  Him at 6'2" and 250 lbs when he bulks up is perfect for the LEO spot.
