Mettenberger

If Mett drops to the third or fourth round, I'd scoop him up in a heartbeat.  The arm talent is too good to pass up at that point.

Quote:I actually think it impacts his more. Murray was probably a 3rd-4th round guy. And now what is he? 5th-6th? Not a huge drop financially.

Mettenberger was being looked at as a potential first rounder, maybe top 10. Now, he could easily drop to the 3rd or 4th. He could lose millions.

I haven't seen many people mock Mettenberger that high; I honestly have no clue what his stock is at the moment. But the arm talent is still top notch while Murray couldn't afford an injury that will be seen as affecting his pocket presence.

Wouldn't surprise me if it happens. I keep forgetting this dude exists.

I think you're right. If he was healthy and had had a good bowl game, we'd be talking about him in the same class as Bortles.

About 3 weeks ago Tony Pauline had Mett going in the 2nd round. He said without the injury, he would have gone at least bottom 3rd of the first.

I could have seen some team falling in love with his arm. Hands down he may have the most physically gifted arm in this draft and that usually causes a QB to rise in the draft.

Not a big Mettenberger guy, but I've mentioned before I could see him going somewhere like Arizona where he can sit/rehab for a year behind Palmer then he's their new QB in year 2.

That's likely the ideal scenario for him.

Definitely. He has some traits Arians would love and arm talent wise he would be comparable to another 'Berger in Pittsburgh.
