Excuse me but until the offense keeps the defense off the field long enough to get a decent break I do not blame them for doing what it takes to take care of their multimillion dollar arms, legs, hands, etc...

Maybe I'm being too hard but how as the DC do you allow your players to not line up where they are supposed to be? Like how does that slip through the cracks?

Sounds like he figured these guys are basically pro bowlers across the board so they got some leeway.

Jags front 7 guys have been over pursuing and being super aggressive with trying to "cheat" in certain directions to get an advantage. If you know enough tape and recognize a tell, or are athletically gifted enough to catch the mistake, you will be okay.

However, Andy Reid's offensive scheme is entirely about using aggressive schemes against you. Spread you and misdirect. Dallas just repeated that game plan, in a lesser fashion because of lack of personnel.

We aren't the first or only current defense that has had issues lining up properly. That's a lot of what defense is in the NFL believe it or not. Lining up in the right spot for the coverage and disguise. It's not like hey you're going to line up in the exact same spot every play and do the exact same thing.

I think any coach would have the same problem if they had an all pro defense and a struggling offense. Your good players will try to make plays to make up for the ineffectiveness on the other side of the ball even if it means taking gambles that can put you out of position. It's a natural thing to do when you are trying to figure out a way to win.

Hopefully the addition of Hyde will give more consistency to the offense and we can get back to our style of controlling field position and time of possession. This way the defense doesn't feel the necessity to force the action in order to make a big play and can concentrate on just getting the other team's offense off the field.

It doesn't. This is part of why they got rid of a bunch of borderline pro bowl players like collins and the cornerbacks who would do things like that.

New England mantra is to be very good and smart and do your job without any over pursuit or such.

Something tells me that the players might have thought they were a little bit better than they really were as a team (ie Jalen playing 20 yards off his man) and were trying to do too much/play too much of the field. Maybe Wash was convinced they could do more with less. Whatever the case, it deserves a big Donald Trump "wrong" gif.

Something tells me that the players might have thought they were a little bit better than they really were as a team (ie Jalen playing 20 yards off his man) and were trying to do too much/play too much of the field. You're mostly right. I also think they bought their own hype. A good example is Ramsey who needs to run his mouth less, and his feet more.

The real issue is we are playing way too much soft zone this year.

Last year we were man to man almost 60% and now we play man to man around 35%.

The scheme is also a problem this year. Ramsey plays 10+ yards off too much this year. I thought this team was suppose to be a press corner team

Hes been living on the coat tails of an ultra talented Defense for over 1 1/2 seasons now, yet we're still seeing the same stupid issues. These guys haven't developed any beyond last season. It only looks like they got worse, which falls on the coaches.

We're one of the most talented Defenses in the entire league, with two of the top CBs and one of the best pass rushing groups in the game... Yet we play nearly the least amount of Man Coverage, of any team in the league.... Wash has been an under studied of Gus for a long, long time and hes been clearly showing it as of late.

It's really starting to look like it's the classic case of great talent, making their Coach seem like he's far better than he actually is.
