I remember Brunell being benched in 2000 in a game against the Ravens. A QB being benched doesn't automatically mean a switch has been made. Not fluent in Ramsey-speak, but I suspect the fight in the locker room had to do with the team being split on Bortles. I know Campbell likes him. Apparently Ramsey doesn't.

To be honest Blake Bortles should have been benched at halftime during that Titans game at halftime, down 28-0 a few years back.
You know players like Ramsey think Bortles is complete garbage.

It provided a spark for Philly. McNabb then started the next week.

Bortles throws a football like it’s a boomerang. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Coincidentally, directly after that game was when the ESPN reporter stated that a Jags offensively player told her "I don't think we have the right QB". Presumably, that was Beachum. Now, the same thing seems to be going on in the Jags locker room today. It's supremely difficult to find an elite QB. But, a good QB and leader should have the entire team all-in on him being "their guy". IF, the locker room is split today because of BB,, after all these seasons,,, man, that says alot. Bi-polar Bortles will be back next week.
He's due for a manic episode where he looks like Tom Brady. Can't miss out on that.
The only reason I might start Bortles next week is because he knows the drill in London. He's been there, and there's not much of an adjustment for him. I pray the Eagles are affected by playing on the other side of the pond.

Kessler is not an answer but the team did seem to start stringing some first downs together (not to mention a score) when he went in. Still, biggest problems are the injuries to so many 1st team players on offense.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

If Bortles starts another game for the Jaguars after bumbling around for four and a half seasons trying to be what he is not and will never be - franchise quarterback at the helm - I will lose respect for all the coaches and management.

We just lost 3 straight. What's the worst that could happen? the Offense stays in its same stagnant slump and we lose again? ![]()
Kessler makes quick decisions and can actually leave his first read. His only interception was in no way his fault.
Im ready to roll with him. What’s the worst thing that can happen? Zero points in the first half? That INT was just as much his fault as it was Yeldons.. Throw a better ball and Yeldon doesn't have to try and finger tip catch it. |
