Manziel??? God no, only bad things would happen

Our only chance against them is to get Clowney if they get Bridgewater

Even then....
lol, if Teddy is as good as you think he is why in the world would Houston be open to trade and why is everybody not trying to trade up to get him?  Dont ever remeber Stl. thinking about trading there pick when they had number 1 to get Bradford, or Det. when they got Stafford. , or even Car. when  they got Newton. He could turn out to be a good pro but he isnt on any of their level as a prospect.

They are our div rivals.  Wouldn't you rather they make the mistake of not drafting the right QB?

I don't agree with that Shangster, but that's because I want the sport to stay strong. Do I actively want them to do bad? No. Do I want them to be great? Not really. But I do want a quality opponent. Wading through the shallow end of the pool so to speak against inferior opposition really does no one any good. If they get a great player, let's get a great player ourselves and figure out a way to beat them.

I ain't scared; I'm looking forward to the opportunity to kick their [bad word removed]

While I don't feel Teddy is going to be an elite QB, I think he'll be a good (top half of league with time) pro. At some point in a rebuild, a team must put a QB into the build in order to develop.

Caldwell chose not to draft one last year, in hopes of a better QB later. In my opinion, next year at this point does not appear better, and there would be an unknown if their draft position next year may afford them the opportunity of someone better if there is one better.

The days of having to pay 1st round QB JeMarcus Russell ($60m+ deal with $30m+ guaranteed) type money is gone...thank you rookie salary agreement with the player's union. If Teddy, or some other rookie QB, does not work out, the team can just move on to another QB opportunity. The financial crippling effect of a high 1st round QB bust has been removed.

This team swung and missed with Leftwich, then again with Gabbert. But, many home runs have been hit with 2 strikes on the hitter. It's time to step up to the plate again. (Even if you strike out....there are 2 more outs!).

The percentage has to be between 50-75 if not better..

Most of the mocks that I am seeing still have Teddy going at #1. Went over to the Houston message boards and noticed they had a poll on who to pick at #1. 57% want Teddy. 23% want Johnny. 7% want Clowney. 3% want Bortles.

Here's a question though; what impact, if any, do mock drafts have on actual selections? It's not like these mocks are done by the people that actually make the decisions.

I know that they are predictions but do they have any actual impact on the reality?

Quote:So we can draft a once in a lifetime talent and watch him eat Teddy alive for years to come.

Forget it. If Teddy is not available, we should pick another quarterback, not a defensive end.

Good question. I don't think so because NFL scouts say the player mocked everywhere to go #1 overall is not worth a first round pick.

As much as your opinion does. The only difference between analyst like Bucky Brooks, Charles Davis, Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, etc etc is they get paid and we do not. Otherwise their opinion is not much better than yours.

Interesting, coming from a team who probably already has their QB (and didn't need to reach in the first round to get him.)

So you just want to draft a QB for the sake of drafting one?

I'm sure we are all very glad that the Colts got Luck.
