If he came out of retirement he'd be the best QB on our roster...

The first induction of the Pride that I do not agree with....and I am strongly against this one.

Don't get me wrong, I was a fan of Brunell both as a player and since then as he's been a model Jaguar....

But the Pride should only be for truly "great" Jaguar players. Brunell was good, indeed, but was by no means on the level of Taylor or Boselli regarding their stature to their positions.

This reaks of desperation. Something the Carolina Panthers might do, ala the Sam Mills statue...

Congrats, Mark.

And well deserved.

Mark was the quarterback during the most successful era in Jaguars history, and he was no small part of that success. Congratulations to him, well deserved.

just because it was the most successful era in Jaguars history as of current, does not mean the era was all that successful.

It didn't even culminate into a single superbowl appearance, much less a SB win or win(s).

The Pride is supposed to be for celebrating/ honoring true greatness.

This induction is the first that is compromising the principles.

Honestly, who cares?  We're not exactly running out of spots.  And compromising the principles?  Whose principles exactly?

Speaking of which...When are we going to induct Jimmy Smith?

Jimmy Smith would be more deserving than Brunell.....and I'd still be on the fence regarding Jimmy's inclusion into the Pride.

Weak argument. So because we "have ample room" now were rationalizing inductions of less than great players??

The pride is supposed to be for truly "elite" Jaguars players. Sorry, but Brunell is not that.

I like Brunell, but am just speaking the truth.

I didn't actually make an argument, just pointed out that it affects us in no way. I did ask who cares? I definitely don't. Can't say as I understand why you would either.

I also think you tend to take your personal view "it compromises principles" and "the pride is supposed to be x" and speak as if it's the one universal truth. Guess what, he's being inducted, so I guess you're wrong about it.

What you guys chose to let work you up though, I'll never get it.

His stats in Jax were honestly never very good. I just looked them up again and they were as average as I thought. I think he's one of the more overrated players of this generation.  Frankly, I don't think he was even a very good player.  In fact I think he was a much better leader than player, and he wasn't really all that talented.  He only even threw for more than 20 TDs twice as a Jag. He also threw 20 INTs in a season.

The sycophants on here will flame you, and I but they are over-exaggerating his 'greatness'.

If they decide to induct them, then yeah. You can't control it or dictate what it is or isn't. Personally, I'm not going to sweat it.

Mark Brunell deserves this and would argue it until you're blue in the face. He has given back to Jacksonville to this very day through football and through his lead the ball began rolling for this franchise. The first real QB for this franchise deserves to be honored. He was behind the wheel in the retirement game of Dan Marino and Jimmy Johnson, he lead our team in arguably the biggest upset in franchise history against the Broncos. He made us believe in this franchise and anything was possible. Congrats, MARK.
