Report: Jaguars will move on from Blake Bortles this offseason
|
I got an idea for Borts. Given the extensive amount of injuries this season, should the Jags consider Blake for the strength and conditioning coaching position next season? The dude seemingly never gets injured. #BOAT2019

Per Mike DiRocco:
Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said on a teleconference with reporters he is not considering re-inserting QB Blake Bortles into the starting lineup. Job still belongs to Cody Kessler. Jaguars have scored one TD in Kessler's two starts. (12-07-2018, 06:34 PM)jagboss Wrote: Per Mike DiRocco: isn't it great, wow, what great stats! They're throwing in the towel and quitting, they're now admitting it. I hope they throw all the bums out at the end of the season and hire new coach, defense coordinator, offensive coordinator, GM, and get rid of the run-heavy pound in your throat mentality that is ancient and will not work in this pass-happy NFL. Until that happens, cellar dwellers and you're lucky to score 10 points a game. All the teams in the NFL have figured out how to beat us, it's pretty easy, keep 9 or 10 guys near the line of scrimmage and dare us to go above them. if we're able to do it and our great wide receivers even catch the ball, which is in doubt, they figure oh well. I wish BB5 good luck in his new team, and I'll root for him when he plays us.

Even if kessler is a better thrower, I'd say they are about the same Blake is ten times the runner and gives the defences something to think about at least. You don't think defences game plan for QBs who are a threat to run chunk yardage for first downs?
I don't know what to say. I now understand some of your views. I'll move on. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

They gameplan for Lamar Jackson..... not Blake Bortles running.
Nobody ever said anything bad about Gabbert guess he was good. Ramsey spoke bad of some Superbowl winning qbs so I guess they are terrible too.
The defence yesterday would have been concerned about Blake bootlegging on that 4th down fournette stop. It's these little details you probably don't realise that's why now our running game looks even worse. This is not saying that I wouldn't want an upgrade on Bortles by the way before childish comments. But we haven't found that yet
Tony will eventually realize that time is much better spent cruising around the world in Shad’s boat with a bunch of supermodels. As opposed to trying to save the Jags and Fulham from mediocrity

They won't have to gameplan much if the same QB can't throw a pass 10 yards in front of him without it being batted or inaccurate though.
You need to let it go man. Bortles is done here and won’t play another snap for the jags.
He has had plenty of opportunity to prove himself. Game after game he doesn’t. Nothing will change there. I gave the man the benefit of the doubt and I’m tired of waiting around for this team to be good. I have seen high school quarterbacks with a better release and throw a better ball than bortles. When bortles throws his left hand is pointed palm up . it is something I have never quite seen before to the extent that he does it. So damn bizarre. I have never seen a guy throw a ball so incredibly ugly. He doesn’t just throw ducks. The guy throws knuckle balls. It is time to move on Blake and just accept it. Kessler isn’t good either but the jags need to try something. Mike Vick and Bobby Douglas. Belicheat said that Blake was as good a runner as Cam if not better. He was a Dual threat QB in college. The Jags tried to make him a drop back passer. If he was in the spread like mahomes he would be a much better QB. if we had drafted Mahomes they would try and make him a drop back passer, since he has a better arm he might have fit better but still would not be playing to his strengths. The coaches here do not play to the players strengths, and do not adjust to injuries or the other team. They need to be gone. #firemalone We show less advertisements to registered users. They're way too scared all of the time to try something that might work. Bortles isn't good and Kessler isn't any better. He might have a tighter and quicker release, but lets not act like he wasn't missing guys and leaving plenty of plays out on the field as well. At the end of the day, it's best for both this team and Bortles to just go separate ways. I wouldn't mind if Marrone and Wash followed him on his way out either. |
