Dee Ford

Man I really want this guy if we get a QB in the first.  I might even trade to the late 1st or top 2nd to get him.  He beat Cameron Erving twice in the bowl game one of the best LT's in college and he got better and better as the season went on.  I love his attitude.  Would be the perfect LEO

Ford, who has always liked playing on the left side better, lined up on the weak side of the formation in the 4-3 defense being installed by the Jacksonville Jaguars' staff, who are in charge of the South this week.

Flip-flopping side to side, Ford beat James twice around the edge, frustrated Johnson with an inside move and used a combination -- faking a step inside before turning the corner around the edge -- against Moses, among several others.

Ford's quickness off the edge, particularly his first step, presented big problems for the tackles.

"That first step, you've got to get it down or most of the time, you'll get beat," James said. "You have to try to get back in the groove of things to get ready for guys like Dee.

Ford is going to be good and it seems like Gus really likes him. I just don't think he's going to last until our 2nd round pick. We may have to trade up in the 2nd or back into the 1st to get him.

In the postgame show either the last game, or the second to last, (I can't remember which), Marco Coleman said he liked Ford more than Clowney.

I know that's just one man's opinion, but it just so happens to be a man who played a dozen or so seasons at a high level as a defensive end in the NFL.

That's pretty high praise.

Marco Coleman has been down on Clowney for a long time. He doesn't like him at all, and its become kind of comical about it.

Definitely seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I can see why Gus likes him.

You are probably right.

I liked what I saw out of him.  He's gotta be a little more consistent and up his awareness a little, but he's a really good prospect.  Quick, fluid, strong.  I'd be stoked if we could get Bridgewater and then Ford, but not sure that happens.

So did Joey Harrington.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J8EGE7FIbA

I love what I'm hearing about the guy, but can't get over the feeling the senior bowl talent may not necessarily be up to snuff.  Not just this year, but for a while now, as so many underclassmen are coming out nowadays.

Still... can't wait for the game to see/hear more about these guys.

Well he put a good old fashioned whooping on FSU's O-Line during the NC game. And they are pretty talented.

That's a good point.  That whole defense seemed to play with their hair on fire as far as pressuring the QB goes.  Can't say the same about their run defense.  I don't dislike the guy, just wish there was more talent to see all around.

If David Caldwell likes him enough, he can trade a fourth to move up in Round 2.

Meh. Dee Ford is 6' 2" 243 Lbs. For the NFL that's grossly short (think arm length is equal to height) for 3-4 outside linebacker and 4-3 defensive end as well.

He also has 32 3/4" arms, which is solid. He is basically the perfect size for a LEO.

Elvis Dumervil was considered short too....
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Almost identical to Bruce Irvin in terms of size.
