I don't know about that.  Logic tells me that the Jaguars are probably a pretty good bet.  I won't predict a final score but I do believe that the Jaguars will cover the 7.5 points (meaning they win or lose by less than 7.5).

1.  The defense is going to come out and be angry... will they be angry enough to pitch a shutout?  That remains to be seen.  However, I don't think that they allow many (if any) touchdowns.

2.  The running backs are healthy and should be able to soften up the Redskins' defense to open up the passing game as well as possibly put up some points.

3.  The Redskins are on their 4th/3rd string QB's.  Neither one is a threat and both a prone to produce turnovers.  Refer to my point #1.

As far as the over/under, I wouldn't want to bet that one but I'll take a flyer and take the over (assuming the Redskins score).  I kind of think that this upcoming game is going to kind of show "what could have been" this season.  The Jaguars offense should be able to produce at least 17 points with the defense possibly adding another 6 (7).

7.5 favorite does not mean they can lose by less than 7.5....
It means they have to win by 8 or more.
If they win by 3, you lose.

The best bet here is taking the skins and the under. Hope the Jags win a close one by less than 8.

I stand corrected.  For some reason last night I was thinking in "reverse logic".  Perhaps it has to do with thinking about betting on the Jaguars as the underdog in games.  It had nothing to do with sipping on some Woodford Reserve at the time... I promise.

I happen to think that the Jaguars can and will win and win big.  The only threat that they face is an aging AP that can still get it done.  As far as the inept Jaguars offense, they are facing a mediocre defense so I think some points will be scored on offense, and considering the situation with the Redskins at QB I think the defense could actually put points on the board.  Enough points for the over?  I'm not going to bet on that.

Look at the teams that are good year after year, and you can see that none of them ever tank for a higher draft pick.   They try hard all the time everywhere and in every single thing they do.   

The one case where it seemed like someone tanked for a draft pick was the Colts with Andrew Luck.   What good has that done them?

I know the Redskins don't have a quarterback. I still don't understand why everyone is so confident that the Jags will win. We have no offense, Kessler will get sacked several times. Redskins RB's could get a combined 200 yards against us.
