Day Two offensive skill position players
|
For this exercise let’s assume the Jags go BAP with the 7th overall pick and we net a top defensive player we weren’t expected to take.
Armed with a 2nd and two 3rd round picks on day 2 - who would you like to see drafted to help bolster the offense? Let’s try to be as realistic as possible. Deebo Samuels Jace Sternberger Devin Singletary

WRs
Harmon Butler (if he falls) Preston Williams AJ Brown JJAW (depends on testing) All big bodied WRs who can make tough catches in contested situations. Our offense is desperately missing that. Not that big a fan of Brown as a #1 guy but I think his floor is really high and he tested well RB Miles Sanders Henderson Alexander Mattison James Williams Justice Hill Ideally take a RB in the late 3rd or early 4th but would make an exception for Sanders and Henderson if they make it to the early 3rd, which is v doubtful, Mattison is a top guy in this class and is a true bellcow back who could pass Fournette for carries, one of the best inside runners. Williams is the best receiving back in the class and would be perfect with Foles. Hills a freak athlete big play guy, very good compliment to LF. TE foster moreau dax redmond ??? Outside of Fant/Hockenson who will go in the 1st I dunno if i like any TEs too much. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If we don't land an offensive lineman in day 1 or day 2 of the draft, I have no hope for this team in 2019. With that said, I believe the two top OG's (Ford and Lindstrom) will be gone before we pick in round 2. If that happens, I guess I would go..... #38 Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State #69 Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M #95 Chuma Edoga, OT/OG, USC #110 Ryan Bates, OG/OT, Penn State
2nd Round:
Lindstrom - OL - Boston College Little - OL - Ole Miss Smith Jr. - TE - Alabama Butler - WR - Iowa State Brown - WR - Ole Miss 3rd Round: Knox - TE - Ole Miss Trade it for Rosen - QB - Cardinals Steinberger- TE - Texas A&M Wilson - TE - UCLA Grier - QB - WVU Some other OL guys that are kind of in between these picks: Deiter - OL - Wisconsin Cajuste - OL - WVU Risner- OL - Kansas State Bradbury - OL - NC State
Second Round: In a perfect world one of Fant or Hockenson falls to our second round pick, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. I don't see any other TEs worth that high a pick, Smith Jr is far closer to the rest of the pack than he is to Fant and Hockenson in my book, especially after his poor combine results. O-line is very possible in round 2. It's hard to know exactly where the chips will fall, but at this stage there are tackles like Little and Cajuste who could make sense there, and a host of interior players like Bradbury, Lindstrom and McCoy who would be great value and fill an immediate need. A versatile player like Risner could also make sense here, with the ability to play multiple positions on the o-line. WR would also be tempting here if one of AJ Brown, Harmon or Harry fall, they would all fill a big need on this team.
Third Round: I think TE fits better here, with Sternberger seemingly a popular favourite on the board, for good reason. There's a bunch of TEs that I think will carry a third round grade, including Knox of Ole Miss and that Kahale Warring guy who is gonna be shooting up draft boards. O-line also is in play here, with another versatile player like Michael Deiter, the two Oklahoma guards, tackles like McGarry and my personal favourite Bobby Evans. Of the potential third round WRs I love Arcega Whiteside, he's built for exactly what we need. Antoine Wesley is my other draft crush, an absolute technician and able to win in the air. Riley Ridley could drop after an underwhelming combine. Terry McLaurin also seems to be a likely match. Ideal draft situation (if we went a different direction in round 1): #38: OL Lindstrom #69: TE Sternberger #98: WR Wesley #109: OT Evans Or... #38: WR Harmon #69: OL Deiter #98: TE Warring #109: OT Evans |
