My hope: trade back, trade back, trade back- swap with Denver at 10, even Cincinnati at 11 (time to replace Dalton), Washington at 15, or Miami at 15 and pick up whatever, a extra 2nd and 5th maybe. There's at least 15 players in the draft who would be a great pick for us so I don't think whether we pick anywhere 7-15 even matters.

My nightmare (s): Metcalf (neck injury is a major red flag); Marquise Brown (Lisfranc is also a red flag). Don't draft injured/rehabbing players IMO.

Probably the same group that it has been:

DL (Oliver/Allen/Williams/Sweat) or Hockenson.

I think one of the above would have been the pick even if Taylor was clear but this does open the door for Jonah Williams if they want a RG/RT.

It was from a podcast...here is the link it is around the 10 Minute mark where they ask about Taylor again...Pauline says no new info just additional sources confirming it.  "Number of teams have medical red flagged him"  "Weight flucuated between 380 to under 305" but "Doesn't know what the issue is"

I really hate the slow crawl of the off-season.  I'm really looking forward to the draft, and go over ever possible mock draft daily. The name I've seen the most lately is Jawaan Taylor.  From what I've read, he's a top 10 prospect in the draft, and to the non-fan, a big need for us. I'm of the belief that the o-line be could be upgraded in the second.  In my perfect scenario, we trade down with a QB or Defense needy team, and pick up at least an additional 3rd, and grab TJ Hockenson/Fant.  The only defensive guy I'd take at 7 if he's available is Quinnen Williams (the big 2 edge rushers will be long gone).  In the second, I'd go RG, and in the third, QB and then WR. Mecole Hardman and Grier  would be 3rd round targets if they were avalable.  What are your thoughts on a perfect outcome?

My fear is that we fall into BAP at 7 and get another DT. BAP is a great concept, but I think our needs are higher and can be met at 7 with an OL, TE, or hell another edge rusher. But please for the love of God, no inside d- linemen lol.

Actually, on the topic of draft nightmares...

I said earlier in this thread that I didn't think there were too many ways the jags could screw up the 7th pick completely considering the number of good prospects who will be available... Well last night I started watching the rerun of the 2017 draft on NFL Network, the one where Chicago traded their home, car and first-born child to move up one spot to draft Trubisky (ahead of Mahomes and Watson). Anyway, when I finally went to bed I had an honest-to-god draft nightmare that the Jags traded up to 4th in this draft, giving up a boat load of picks, and then drafted Daniel Jones. It was terrifying.

This dream tells me two things:
1: there is always a way to screw things up completely
2: I've been spending way too much time thinking about the draft.

Hope: trade down from 7 and eventually trade back into the first/early second round depending on what we need and players available.

If we stay at 7 the hope is one of the Williams/Bosa/Allen/Oliver group falls to us or that we take Hockenson. Honorable mention is Sweat depending on the heart condition who we don't really know the real extent of.

Nightmare: Taylor at 7.  (I wouldn't call it a nightmare though, I think he can be a solid player, just not worth the 7th overall pick especially with all that talent on board)
I have the same feeling as in 2017, I was fine with so many players that year at 4 and I was completely fine wih a trade down as a lot of them would have been there in top 15. All I didn't want was a RB at 4 and that's what happened.
I feel this year to be the same, I really like a lot of players I'd be comfortable drafting top 15 and I just don't want Gary/Taylor at 7.
