I think he goes near the middle of round 2.

I would Barry Sanders soon move to the podium if I were choosing between Rinser and Taylor.

We're talking labels, and fair or not Allen got some tweener/versatility labels that were similar and might have caused him to drop a tad. Do you have a link?

Risner even tested well at the combine on all the short shuttle, 3 cone drills so it's not as though he is unathletic. He may not have any "elite" physical traits but seems to be really good in every single aspect of the game. Durable, smart, tough, good at both run and pass blocking, athletic, etc... The more I keep reading about him it seems like a no brainer.

He didn't play with his hand in the dirt all that much, he has been good in coverage, he was lined up all over the place. Until and even into this season many people thought he was going to be more of a Woodyard or Trevathan in the NFL than a pass rusher. Even now people are saying he could play SAM in base and then EDGE in nickel. Jack of all trades is a very fair assessment.
The bad parts of Josh Allens game are he isn't a power guy, doesn't have an inside move and can get washed out on runs too often even if he had high TFL numbers.
That doesn't matter too much considering how devastating he was as a pass rusher (could have easily topped 20 sacks last year if he was asked to rush the passer more) but they are ? marks so far. The Georgia games for instance he was handled quite a bit. Still a quality player and good pick at 7. I'm glad they took him over Hock (04-26-2019, 01:30 PM)knarnn Wrote:(04-26-2019, 12:39 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote: I dunno Risner's position flexibility is definitely an asset. He can perform well at right tackle, guard or center. In addition to this, one of the networks (ESPN or NFL) did a great story on him and he is an exceptionally high character guy. He has developed a close relationship with a teen through the Make a Wish Foundation as well as a senior citizen in a nursing home (not sure how he got involved with this). This is obviously not more important than his ability to perform at a high level, but it sure won't hurt to have another high character guy. Allen appears to also be a high character guy who takes nothing for granted. After what we've seen from some of our players lately (i.e. Fournette), the locker room could benefit greatly from guys like this. I'd certainly be very happy with anyone of these guys: Risner Ford Taylor (if health concerns are overblown) Irv Smith The chances of all being gone before the 6th pick tonight are extremely low so I expect one to be a Jaguar by 7:30 pm. tonight.
