If you expand that to all whiskeys I would agree with you, but considering the restrictions on what can be called bourbon I am not surprised. For example, Jack Daniels and George Dickel, big sellers in these parts, are not bourbons.

 

I understand why vodka is so popular. It is much easier to cover up the shortcomings of poor quality vodka than other liquors, imo.
