Doesn't sound like QB will like Manziel, Carr, or Garoppolo

Bortles is a huge question mark to me and Barr isn't. I think 1A and 1B are Teddy and Clowney but I think the next choice has to be either Manziel or Barr, maybe Watkins. Manziel is a huge question mark too but has a higher ceiling than Bortles IMO

I think for Caldwell, Fales may be on equal footing or higher than Manziel.

I feel that Barr might have the highest ceiling in this entire draft and may be the best player in this draft when it's said and done.

Quote:I am scared that he would put Manziel in that equation

Bridgewater and Fales are the 2 best at it though

He mentioned those 3 guys as possessing what he feels are characteristics of his ideal quarterback. Could be Teddy or Johnny taken at 2 or 3. Trade up is possible.....maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder to move up 1 spot. Possible we could go non-quarterback at #3 and draft Fales later. Possible we could move down. He said he was open to that. Of course, this could all be a smokescreen and we take Bortles. This is like Poker.

I think its a smokescreen to get Clowney as long as Hou. dont take him because we know Stl. most likely wont take a QB and could very well be looking at Clowney at 2.

Absolutely a possibility. This was a perfect venue for a smokescreen......and all the other GMs know it.

They could, but with Long and Quinn already on the Rams. I don't think they go Clowney. Who's going to sit on the sideline until they send in the rush package? I guess you could play Clowney at the 3 Tech, but I just don't see it.

I think its OT or maybe Watkins is a more likely pick for the Rams at #2. A trade back would be the most ideal for them though in my opinion.

Pretty sure Dave never said this.

Caveat:

St Louis already has two proven pro-bowl/all pro DE

He didn't. It's a quote from Alfie in the BCC article about Caldwell's comments.

Lol People trying to fool themselves into thinking that this is smokescreen

We technically are sitting at the 2nd pick. Houston will chose who they want to choose. No fooling them.

The Rams already have a qb they want to stick with and two proven pass rushers in Quinn and Long.

Caldwell can say whatever he wants. We are that the 3rd pick and moving up costs the least for us. Apparently Caldwell are Snead are good friends too.

I was about to say, to include Manziel in that would be the epitome of idiocy since he demonstrates the complete opposite

Its called stupid. You have quality/PROVEN players at that position already. You don't go BAP that high unless your dealing with vets on the north side of 30

Yes it is BAP, but it's not if they stick him at DT or back up DE. Long was signed to a 4 year extension in 2012 and I don't just see them dropping a guy (Quinn) who just had 19 Sacks.

Now if they are worried about Quinn leaving in 2016 then the Clowney pick makes sense. However 2016 is too far away to think like that. Quinn is under contract for 2014 and there's a team option for 2015. I don't see him going anywhere, anytime soon.

You are right! My bad. It looked like it the way it was laid out. It was Alfie's take. Caldwell didn't mention names. Thanx for the correction Tux.

The Giants would do it, you keep them fresh and on passing downs you rush all 3!  The D would be scary if they added Clowney.  They could get a OT with their 2nd 1st round pick and a WR in the 2nd.

Taking BAP helped the Giants win a couple SB's.  Maybe you are smarter and could of won more SB's if you were the GM.
