I think people are just getting on Jungle Cat because he is picking for the Jags.....i don't really see anyone complaining about the other teams.

Quote:So if Dave wants Bortles and he has a good feeling Cle. will take Manziel you would rather just not trade with Oak. where you can move up in 2 rounds and just take him at 3 when you could of moved up in those rounds?

I'd rather Dave get more out of Oakland than just the swap. An extra pick -- not just a swap.

All trades that have happened so far, have involved the Jaguars.

More trades are coming. The thing about trades is you need to have a trade partner. He seems to be the most willing to trade so who am I to judge.

P.S. I am still willing to trade #22 in hopes of moving out of the first completely. Time is still available before I finalize anything, but PM soon as I might be close to closing on a deal.

More may be coming, but we can't discuss if they are fair or not until they happen.

I think you always want the most you can get that goes without saying.  But if Dave wants Bortles and that is the highest offer, you take it.  A no brainer to me.  If you can move back a few spots and get your guy you take whatever you can get.  You don't just not take it because you want more, that makes no sense to me.

The idea is that if you don't accept the offer, if Oakland really wants to move up, they offer more.

And the value isn't there.  If the other team isn't offering fair value, you don't just take it.  For example, you don't trade down from #3 to #7 for a 6th rounder because "Hey, the guy I want to pick at 3, will still be there at 7."

So you would rather pick the same guy at 3 and no extra pick when you could of got him at 7 and the extra pick? hmm, ill take the same guy and the extra pick

And you're guaranteed this guy at 7?  Yes in our mock, it's easy to say... but if someone saw the Jags move down to 7 and think hey they want a QB... let's trade up to 6 and lets give up our 7th round pick b/c it's that easy to move up the draft.

If I liked Teddy at 3 or a player at 3 and knew he was going to be a star and I couldn't get exact value to trade down, no I wouldn't take the extra pick.  Esp a 3rd rounder.  Who is to say that 3rd rounder is going to be anything?  When most of the time guys in the top 10... will be

He's going for Lewan or Robinson.

I almost traded (bucs) with the lions but couldnt pull the trigger. Would have been switching 1st and 2nd and gaining the 3rd, giving the bucs a 3rd rounder. My problem was the 7 space difference in the 2nd round i would lose.

Yeah I also looked into trading down with the Rams and Eagles, but in the end I got the guy I wanted all along. And figured I'd have to jump the Bucs and I didn't want anyone trading up and snatching him from me. Could he have fallen to 10, maybe? But, I doubt it.

Im more talking about like the last trade, say Dave had Jff and Bortles as his top 2 prospects.   One of them has to be there so make the trade.  It happens all the time.  If you can trade down a few spots and still get your guy, why not take the best offer ?

Because then teams realize that you'll take any offer at all, and become an easy mark for trading?

Why offer value, when you know the team is going to take what they can get?

JaguarScience95 was on a few minutes ago when it was his pick.  I sent him a IM to let him know it was his pick and he got offline.  If its someones pick and they are online and they get off they should get skipped.

B/c the best offer may cost you a franchise QB.  Trading down makes sense if you're not eyeing a QB.  But would you risk losing RGIII, Cam, Luck b/c you could get an extra 3rd or 4th rounder?

And let's you only move down 2 spots.  The Vikings or team that will need a QB could easily trade their 2nd to move up front of you.  Would you think your 3rd round pick be worth it then?  Our best 3rd round pick has probably been Aaron Beasley.  Def not someone I would care to lose or gain if it cost me a franchise QB

Look at Dallas last year traded almost out of the first round and got next to nothing

How can it cost you a franchise QB if you pick at 3 and move to 5 and Manziel and Bortles is on the board?  You are guaranteed one of them.  If Cle. took Manziel so take Bortles, if they took Bortles take Manziel.
