Jadeveon Clowney

Quote:He's a Julius Peppers clone. His athleticism is off the charts.

A lot of people agree with that, but when the owner of a team comes out and says it, and also has significant connections to said player's school, it leaves a lot to consider.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:Too bad we may not be in a position to draft a legit franchise QB.
Wait a minute, Colts tanked season to get Luck one of the best QBs this decade in the draft and are you telling me Texans tanked the season to get the best DE Clowney, so next year are the titans going to stink to get the best RB, and we get what?

In my opinion, who cares what the owner of a team thinks? Let his GM and scouting department worry about all of that while he just writes the checks.

I think that goes without question.

But given our need and Teddy's skillset at the QB position I would take him over Clowney.

Either way, Clowney or Bridgewater, the Jaguars will be addressing a position of need that will help us for years to come. We can't go wrong either way.

There will never be another Jadaveon Clowney.

You pick Clowney if he's on the board, period.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Hypothetical comparing the 2 prospects most likely NFL comparison.

Would you choose Matt Hasselbeck over Julius Peppers?

Hint: there is no wrong answer

Maybe so but there are a lot of great DEs in the league. There arent a lot of elite QBs.

or Hugh Douglas over Drew Brees. ....you are dealing with unknowns.
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

i would be delighted with any of these combinations

clowney at 3,  kyle van noy in the 2nd, garropolo/fales in the 3rd

bridgewater at 3, stephon tuitt in the second, stork/richburg in the third

trade with atlanta/oakland/tampa for their first and their second and a low rounder 6th/7th

bortles in the first, kyle van noy and stephon tuitt/travis swanson/david yankey with the seconds mcullers/richburg/ kareem martin in the third

if we were to trade with vikings for their first second and 4th

it would be the same except khalil mack/anthony barr in the first,

There isn't a single DE in the NFL like Clowney.

I'm not against picking Bridgewater but Clowney is a can't-miss prospect that you will kick yourself for passing on if you do pass on him.

Don't even try. You can't convince these people that anyone but Teddy is the only way to go at 3. Just tell them he's the greatest QB prospect ever and move on.

I was like them once, enamored with Teddy and the Rodgers/Marino comparisons.

But I would tell someone to pull the trigger if I were a GM and they put a gun to my head and told me to pass on 6'6, 250lbs, 4.4-running Jadaveon Clowney.

If Houston is smart, they'll pick him with the #1 pick.

I've followed recruiting for 10+ years now, and he's the best prospect I've ever seen at the high school level. The moment I watched his film I knew he'd be the number one pick in the draft when he came out. I even thought he would have been a first round pick coming out of high school. That's how rare of a prospect he is.

I'm praying Houston and St. Louis pass on him. I have no doubt in my mind he will be a star in this league, and that this season was just a fluke.

I hope Teddy is on the board and we pass on him just to see your epic meltdown. I would take another year of us sucking just to see that.
