Jadeveon Clowney

Quote:DE's don't win games

Qbs do...
Not if you draft the wrong one.

And freakishly athletic DEs that are also field smart like Clowney can make winning a game significantly easier.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Not when the offense is not scoring point (see Houston Texans)

They have an all pro in Watt, it didn't make difference that they went 2-14

He doesn't get it. Many don't.

Can you predict who will be in the playoffs based on DEs?

No.

Can you predict who will be in the playoffs based on a QB?

Yes.

Pretty good idea, Bridgewater fits perfectly with what we run offensively.

Get Bridgewater we go 8-8, won't be surprised if we go higher and are competing for playoff spot

Right, because Teddy is just like Rodgers, Manning, Brady, etc. and will definitely make that stellar offensive talent we have look better.

He'll be in between Luck and Wilson, probably being closer to Luck

I can't wait for this next season

Quote:I hope Teddy is on the board and we pass on him just to see your epic meltdown. I would take another year of us sucking just to see that.
And if we do pass on teddy I will laugh at all you hosers trying to figure out why clowny only plays hard during contract years while teddy carves up our d twice a year on his way to leading the Tinhorns to the super bowl
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Same people are going to be clamoring for Caldwell/Bradley's head in 2 years lol

Equally as important as having an effective QB, is being able to affect the opposing QB.

Neutralize, and not be neutralized.

So you know he will do this for a fact? Based on what? One year in college where he was double and triple teamed constantly?

Define constantly, it certainly wasn't every play

I'd just be preaching to the choir. You've probably watched countless hours of film on Clowney as well.

I have seen most of his games

1. No denying he is a freak, he gets penetration better than any other lineman in he nation

2. No denying he takes plays off though

3. And no, he does not get double teamed every play

It's not equally important. Really elite QBs can get the ball out faster than a rush can come. I am tempted to say a strong secondary is more important against an elite passer than a pass rush. A great pass rush is definitely nice but I think it sometimes overrated. We don't need a top 10 passrush to be successful. But we do need a very good QB and a very good secondary.

Thing is, a great rush with an average secondary can make the secondary look better than they are

average rush with a great secondary can make the secondary look worse than they are

Affecting the opposing QB is the job of 11 people.  Not 1.

Throwing the ball is 1 person's job.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

A good man corner doesn't need an elite pass rush to succeed. He is on an island with his man. Disruption of the QB can definitely benefit a good man corner, but it is not necessary.
