Quote:He actually isnt a fast rising prospect.  He was on the map last year as well, people didnt think he was gonna come out this year and he improved a lot through out the year.

Master of all pro scouts Gil Brandt has Manziel at 1 and Bortles at 6 so it has to be right!   I actually agree with Manziel at 1 and Clowney at 2 but Bortles should be at 3.

My top 3 bigboard

1. Manziel

2. Clowney

3. Bortles

I would put Matthews at 3 but we dont need a OT so I move Bortles up one over Matthews

I smell a bust about to happen. Big Ben? Really?

Gil Brandt is Bortles, Bortles, Bortles, and Bortles. Garbage in. Garbage out.

The media does this all the time. Bortles has great PR people.

It's a down year for the Florida Gators...if it wasn't, to them, Bortles would be a 'yeah, but' kind of guy.

Tell me that isn't true.

If we can stop referring to Gil Brandt as the all seeing eye of scouting, that'd be great. He has missed on guys just like everyone else. I recall a Blaine something or other most recently.

Bortle played for UCF. what does the Gators having a bad year have to do with it. If you want to talk about a fast rising prospect that would be Hageman. I dont recall hearing much at all about him last year.

If you feel this strongly about Biff, why didn't you trade up and take him or work out a deal with Mr. Sensible? I mean, he's your guy.

Mike Evans to Dallas is interesting. Also, Pats open to trading down. We are waiting by the phones, make us an offer

I found that interesting as well. I still think they would go defense ....even if Mike Evans was still there.

I kind of got left with the impression that Gil was a little irritated with all the unfair and inappropriate pressure being applied by the media...

Smith among those not named Gabbert to impress

http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/03/17/smith-am...o-impress/

While Blaine Gabbert will garner the headlines, there were other prospects working to boost their NFL draft stock at Missouri’s pro day Thursday.

DE Aldon Smith worked out well and will be a first-round pick, somewhere in the 11-20 range. This draft is unusual in that there are a lot of different opinions and similar players. So one team might have Smith rated as the ninth overall prospect, and another might put him at 17.

When Smith lined up in drills with other linemen next to him, he looked like a racehorse. He showed his pass rush skills in games, but confirmed what people saw on tape with his effort in position drills.

We here in the Saints front office are just glad to have picks without having them taken away from Roger Goodoofus.

There were a few in there along with a hardback copy of "Making friends for dummies" and an opened roll of Bounty paper towels.

Not enough GMs to provide an auto-pick for Miami. I guess we skipped them entirely like is does in the real draft. The time-stamp on the pick announcement thread indicates MightyRx waited around a half hour for Miami (Tommy).

It looks like the Green Bay Packers for now.

So..  #21 is on the clock and Miami can pick as soon as they log on and realize they were skipped?

You wanna pick up on this stuff and not expect to show some jack first?

I think GB is allowed to finish their pick and Miami is expected to have their pick up at exactly after the GB pick is posted.

I guess after the GB choice is posted we can give Miami GM, Tommy, five minutes to post a pick.

He has to pick or we do one of two things, auto-pick for Tommy as ordinarily done, or anticipate he has quit and make up for that with a new GM like jessepeck1213.

I'm sorry, I'm unfamiliar with the term show some jack. What exactly does that mean?
