Myles Jack extension : 4 years / $57 million

Another awful performance.

There was zero need to extend him until he proved it, and he isn't doing anything close to that right now.

Hopefully he gets right at some point

The front office wanted to reward the "good guy" since Yannick and Ramsey were making waves about wanting to get paid what they deserved. Good guy maybe, but bad player.

I really think this was an issue for ramsey. They should've extended ramsey first.

Playing Mike doesn't excuse awful tackling and run fits

Jack isn’t very good . Extending him was a mistake IMO.

I can’t believe you guys.

Just seems like last week when he caused a fumble which would have put us in the super bowl if he wasn’t mistakenly called down.

So the kid had his first bad game as a pro in week 5 of 2019. And it was against an NFC opponent.

Jack will rebound and so will this defense. I’m glad they extended him. It’s not like he’s some scrub. Geez

He had a few gaffes, but on the whole he's one of the better MLB's in the league, I think this is a gross overreaction to today's game. If we had better play from our DT's to keep him clean from blocks he can really fly around and make plays!
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I agree. It’s not like Jack was going to say “Nah man, keep the money because I’m going to have a bad game vs Carolina.”

It happens.

We have New Orleans coming to town next week with backup Bridgewater. Let’s get to 3-3 and go from there.

Some of you that think this was his first bad game simply aren’t watching the games.

Draft Paddy Fisher next year on day two or day three and move Myles Jack back outside.

He has one above average season in the NFL so far, was awful last year and so far this year.

Need someone more athletic and better in coverage than the likes of Fisher

Moving Jack outside would then mean the 3rd round selection of Quincy Williams was a complete waste. Not sure if the FO is willing to admit that mistake.

He wouldnt have the run fits like you do playing Mike if you are playing outside and he wont have as many responsibilities where he could just use his athleticism more and play more free.  Its different responsibilities all together that more suits his skillset.  He is a 4-3 OLB or a RB

You still need to be able to tackle and make your run fits at will, he did neither today. He's making very basic technique errors consistently.

The biggest difference would be less intense coverage responsibility but A) He's by far the best coverage Lb on the roster and B) He's actually been good in coverage the last two years, just not this season.

It would also mean admitting them paying him to be Bobby Wagner would be a mistake.

I don't really care where he plays, just needs to improve massively in every aspect

Then why spend a 3rd rounder on a LB? Wouldn't make sense at all. You can find depth for LB in UDFA, when you draft a LB in the 3rd round you are expecting an immediate impact starter.

Question isn't directed at you, just a general outloud question as to if they do start Ryan and move Jack.
