Ramsey Updates (merged)

I’m not an employment attorney, Ramsey doesn’t have a non-compete. You are an at-will employee in FL, that means you can be terminated at any time by your employer without cause.

There is no one employed in FL that can dictate whether they are going to work or not.

This is a business, I get it. The inmates shouldn’t run the asylum. If he can’t or doesn’t play don’t [BLEEP] pay him. Period.

I think the NFL has Shad Khan's back here..

They don't want the league turning into the NBA and they've had enough of the antics.

I firmly believe Ramsey will be sitting 2 years and no one is going to want him.

Dude. What in the world are you talking about? hahaha

So if Ramsey plays, it's because Khan came and put his foot down? And if Ramsey doesn't play, he's a scumbag?

You're all over the place my guy.

Ramsey doesn't want to play. If he's cleared medically then Shad has basically told him he better play. If he's cleared and doesn't play then yes, he's a scumbag and should be suspended indefinitely.

If he's cleared and legit chooses to sit out, then yes, it's a scumbag move. Not disagreeing.

You are not 100% correct.  At-will employees can be given additional protection through union contracts, state law, or department policy.  Once an at-will employee has been given these rights then they can't  be disciplined without providing them with due process.  In this case one needs to see what the union contract calls for.   He could be placed on the bench for two years and as long as he does not lose a property interest ( pay) then he has no recourse.  If he is docked pay then his property rights have been impacted and he would probably have to be provided a hearing before docking his pay.

Who is worried?

Good God man, are you his wife or something? I hope not, because he seems like a bad husband.

Look at your avi my dude. If anyone is obsessed here, it's certainly not me.

I just find it funny that since he's practicing with the team again, people find new ways to bash him. IE, let's talk about how bad his haircut is!

Can one or both of y’all add the other to their ignore list? I’m sure I’m not alone in getting tired of seeing the two of you bicker just to bicker!!

At-will employment doesn't count for NFL players under contract unfortunately.

But yeah... you can be fired from McDonalds for no reason (or any reason) essentially in Florida.
Employers must be careful though that the employee can't prove that the firing is due to race, religions, sex, sexual orientation, discussing wages, etc.
If there is anything there, the employer can find themselves in a bit of hot water.

And all these constructive comments confirm “I am not an employment attorney.”

I wish someone would explain to Ramsey that nobody plays for the front office. They play for themselves, their teammates and the fans, in whatever order they see fit.

Yeah, because people have never told white males with long hair to get a hair cut. Rolleyes  There's nothing racist about it.

It was usually white people telling white males to get their hair cut, and the comment wasn't about length, it was about style. It was code commonly used to provide an opening for deniability. It's happened before, a few years back it was Mike Sims' rims.

Jalen being Jalen. Remember when he supposedly hurt his hand and it was news the entire week and he ended up playing. It's just a side show. Anything to get more attention/follows/tweets/whatever in this day and age.
No pain, no gain.

Bah, people only find racism where they look really hard for it, almost like a confirmation of their own bias.

I have heard plenty of black people giving [BLEEP] to white people for wearing dreadlocks over the years claiming it's culture vulture behavior, etc.

Yet, there's history of dreadlocks being adorned for centuries all over the [BLEEP] place. It goes back as far as 3600 years ago with the Minoan's which is basically modern day Greece. Mummified Egyptian remains have been found adorning them. During the Bronze & Iron age several peoples in the Near East, India, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Mediterranean, North Africa, etc were found rocking dreadlocks.

It's just watered down dribble being tossed around ad nauseam for attention. But, you let a white lady publicly say anything negative about black women having blonde hair or "wypipo" hair and boy oh boy you will never hear the [BLEEP] end of it.

Hypocrites. I don't give a [BLEEP] what your skin color is. Blended culture is good culture. Take it as a compliment. Nobody is trying to white wash everybody. It's a cop out. Get over yourself.
