Shad Khan has publicly backed him. Tony Khan has publicly backed him. Doug Marrone has publicly backed him. Nah, ruin his NFL career. If the coaches and FO came out and said he's medically cleared to play and he's choosing to sit out by faking his injury - he's done in the NFL. Screw him. This is where we disagree. I do not deal him. He either plays here or nowhere. If he rots on the bench or IR I would not give a damn. I would continue to pay him if I had to so to punish his punk [BLEEP]. Even at the franchise tag prices. Definitely at a minimum thru next years option.

OR instead of sitting him to make clear some point about how the Jags own him or whatever, you salvage what's left of the situation by trading him to a team that will actually benefit your team as well? Just because Jalen has an ego doesn't mean management should try to get into an ego-boasting contest. It makes way more sense to NOT have him on the bench if he's determined to not play. It's going to affect the locker room whether people admit it or not. It's going to affect the spirit of the team going forward, including constant questioning from the press about Jalen's situation. What does benching him achieve? That Kahn and TC and Caldwell have big members and can swing them around? How does that help this team get BETTER? By just saying, "HA take THAT you miserable spoiled brat! We own you. Sit on that bench and [BLEEP] in tears as we continue to develop in our own way and possibly suck more." No, i'm sorry. THere's no mending fences here. He's made that clear. Take emotion off of the table, and send him somewhere where he'll bring back a solid price. There ARE teams in need of a young and powerful cornerback. Exploit that, and bring back another first at the very least for this next year, and hopefully another one for the year after that. Even just getting one extra first round COULD make a difference. Or, it may not, given the way Caldwell is with these sorts of things, but how is benching Ramsey and trying to bully him into submission going to help, given what we already know? He's not playing and he'll do whatever it takes to be traded. There's no chance he's going to change his mind. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Why help another team? Why help Jalen? Why give him what he wants? We don't need anything. No extra draft picks. Nothing - the team will be fine. The coaches would make it clear that the players will NEVER have the upper hand and to treat Jalen like he was an opposing team member. Edit: Oh and if he had the balls to just say, I'm healthy but i refuse to play; I'd say trade him. But because he's being a cowardly piece of cow dung? RUIN HIS CAREER.

The team is 2-4. The offense needs help if it's going to have any chance to compete the remainder of the schedule. The defense was lucky yesterday due to Brees being out. It would have been a nightmare. The Saints opened a blueprint into containing Minshew. Bailing on the owner himself just created a disaster. Trade Ramsey now. Get a player on offense and draft picks. Do it. Noooooooooooooow! Right nooooooooooow!
With his display of dishonesty and petulance I'm going to assume that sweet Jalen does not believe in the theory of Karma.

Ruin his career. Do I need to point how petty that sounds? How petty a notion that is? If management were that bad, i'd want them gone on general principles. You don't go to war on your players; how is that going to look to future FAs or drafted players who see that kind of mentality? What do you think they're gonna say? "Aw, [BLEEP] yeah, playing for the dictators with big [BLEEP] in Jacksonville! Woo!" Of course not. It's bad business. But putting that aside, I get what you mean about helping other teams. I'm usually opposed to it, myself. But in extreme cases like this? You gotta make a call, and not doing anything - or benching Jalen, if you want to put it that way - is a non-answer. That is why I'd propose looking trade with NFC teams, as that if you're going to help them improve, it's better at least to get a guy like Jalen out of the AFC entirely, so you only hope you play him in the superbowl and on occasion elsewhere. And who cares if it helps Jalen get what he wants? At this point he's already winning. He's doing exactly what he wants, which is to not play another down for Marrone or Wash. Benching him just makes management sink to his level. Again, there is no winning in that. There is only losing for Jacksonville. You treat your players poorly, other players will take notice and notice the dysfunction in the team. You send him out, get some compensation back, and that at least provides some better opportunities to bring along talent in the future. Which by the way, if your definition of 'fine' is 2-4, I'm not sure what to say. Even if they go 4-4 these next few weeks, i'm still of the opinion they're not making the playoffs. I think at best Jacksonville has the potential to be 3rd in the AFCS, and that's it right now. There is still a lot of holes on this team and it'd be foolish to let Jalen sit and rot on the bench, and then let him go eventually when his contract runs out. That's essentially Jacksonville losing a blue chip player for NOTHING. Which is madness given what you could get for him in a trade at the deadline if the need trends upwards. Now, if there are no takers in a trade? That's a different story. Either way I do wish Kahn and co. would have another 'heart to heart' with the kid and explain to him that the sooner he gets back on the field and plays hard, the better his odds of getting traded will get, as that just shows what he's capable of. This whole drama isn't going to go away by just benching him. Ha on ruining his career... other GMs aren't going to care. He can play and is a better corner in the league. Are there other Corners that don't bring a headache with them? Sure but never underestimate other teams believing they can be the ones to tame an ego. Even if he is a big fake and the second specialist says there is nothing there, is it really going to help to go after the player's money? Short attention spans and teams would love to have the guy. We could option him and evaluate him every week and he could just sit on the sideline racking in the cash. Up the workouts in the offseason and keep contract demands high.
No win situation for the Jaguars or us fans.

The NFL does not look favorably on players faking injuries. Especially to get out of playing for a team. There would be an illegal owners meeting where they would all decide to only give him the veteran minimum deal once his two years is up with the Jags. I believe that to be 100% plausible. These men do not want to be owners in a league like the NBA. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Jalen physically attacked his head coach
Had a chat with the VP of Football Ops which left him terminally butt hurt Called a press conference and told a pack of lies Now he's trying to make a fool out of the billionaire owner I would just suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team and league. Let the NFLPA go to bat defending a guy who quit on his team. See how that works out.
