So Malcom Smith and Austin Calitro could be starting this week.

The hamstring bug has returned from 2014.

Depending on how Williams hammy is on Friday.
I'd guess we see Jack in the middle, Williams at Will, and Calitro at Sam.
(unless Smith or Payne really impress in practice this week. Doubt their conditioning is ready yet though)

Memories of 1999 (?), when the team had so few healthy linebackers that 4-2-5 was practically a base set. I think we'll be seeing a whole lot of nickel.

Marrone has already ruled Williams as doubtful for Sunday so I wouldn’t hold my breath. These guys will need to get up to speed fairly quick.

Ahhh. Didn't know that.  I hope Smith stayed in shape.

What is it with this team and [BLEEP] hamstrings lately? It's nuts.

The last thing this team needed was losing depth on defense. Puts more of the onus for winning games on Minshew and the offense, which has been a concern these past few weeks.

I blame the guy that was traded and then the other by before that one.  In all honesty, we all know that it is the strength and conditioning guys fault.

I seem to recall an interview (I think with Coach Marrone) where it was said that there was something about the playing surface leading to a lot of soft tissue injuries.  Perhaps wrong cleats being used?

THAT'S IT!  FIRE THE EQUIPMENT GUY!!!!

Did I do that right?

They need to stretch more.

I forgot bout Carlito, the signings indicate they don't have much faith in him but think he can do well in a spot start

Not necessarily. I think Calitro is playing SAM while Smith is more of a WILL. Payne, during his first stint here, backed up Myles at MLB if I remember correctly and Giles-Harris can back up at both outside spots in a pinch and will be a core special teamer along with Payne.

Seahawks fans were pretty upset that Calitro was cut and was probably the preseason MVP this year for them. Jacobs play has been outstanding this year both on defense and special teams which is why Calitro hasn’t gotten much of an opportunity. He’ll get one this Sunday for sure.

talk about a team being despreate at LB. the jags were so desprete at the postion they signed smith wwho hasn't played in 2 years due to a injury. not a good idea to sign players who haven't played in a couple years.

Dareus out, Williams likely out, Goode out... Jacobs out...

Hopefully our offense can put up points that Lev Bell can't keep up with.

Bell will likely have a good day. Lets hope Darnold doesn't. And our offense is on point.
McCray is a DE/LB hybrid iirc... perhaps he gets some snaps at DE with Allen standing up and/or vice versa
