Michael DiRocco says the Jags should pass on taking Bridgewater/Manziel/Bortles and take another later.

I completely agree.

I agree with his notion, because this year has one of the best QB crops in a long time. People have said it has a similarity to the 2011 draft, and we all know how that has ended up.

We are at #3, and again we are at a position like last year to have a chance to draft the BAP overall. Last year it was Luke, and this year it is Clowney. Without hesitation, I would take Clowney if he is at #3. I love me some Manziel, but if we are looking for overall value, I would be willing to take the sacrifice, and have a great team, instead of a great player.

For the fans that love Bridgewater; he is a player I respect, but for some reason I beleive that he will not be a QB that will last. You may think that it is a contradiction to Manziel, but Manziel is a player that is a perfect fit for the jags. Short throws, and Run N' Gun. I feel because of this offense, he can easily fool D's to think that he is running, and make *magician* throws to WR's and TE's. Because of that, it would be less ware and tare, and he could last longer.

As for Bortles, I think he is Blaine Gabbert 2.0. If you would like proof, just look up Gabberts stats to Bortles. If you don't think that is a good reference, then look up Chad Henne's stats at Michigan. I would be more than happy to show stats for anyone that doubts my similarity,

I am not a person who will *Bully* anyone on this board, and I ask that you also respect my opinion. But as for value and the long run, the Jags should take Clowney.

I used to disagree but have changed my tune over time. Bridgewater is the only guy I would consider in the 1st and preferrebly that would be with a considerable trade down or two.

This team needs talent everywhere. Unless the QB is close to the same grade I want the talented playmaker. If a talented playmaker is available, regardless of position, take him! This team needs more bigtime talents and you don't pass them up unless you see a topnotch level potential QB. I don't get the feeling Caldwell would do that and I hope I'm right. This roster needs loads of talent all around.

Imagine how much better Clowney would make Gratz, Evans, and Cyprien look.

And it won't be just clowney... Probably another draft pick or 2 and free agency and an improving Andre Branch could really make things interesting..

We need faster LB's.. That Telvin Smith out of FSU can really fly around. I bet Dave and Gus take a good look at him. Reminds me of bobby wagner

This guy also bashed the jags for not signing Tebow.

If Teddy is there I would hand in my pick immediately.

I want Clowney and hope we hit on a later QB, but getting Teddy would be awesome. He just knows what to do with the football.

I understand the thought process but, I just don't like our chances on hitting on a qb later. Much more difficult but, I couldn't be mad at Clowney.

I agree. Also finding a DE late is tough also. I'm hoping we take a couple guys like either Shaw, Murray, Franklin, Price, Thomas, etc. and hope they can make enough plays to win the game, while managing the game to perfection (like Russell Wilson) and just have a young, fast, and talented defense..

In DiRocco's defense, he stated that he thought we should have drafted him, but now doesn't think we should go and get him.

Fundamentals are the crutch of the talentless

Couldn't agree more. Manning played 60 minutes of fearful football last Sunday. It's why a QB isn't the instant answer.

QB fear is very real.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Not as much better as the WRs and oline would look with a good QB.
